Are these any good?

No.

I guess not from this review online
"Recently purchased 5 piece knife set ,no problems with delivery but when i 1st used 2 of the knives i placed them in the dishwasher .On completion of the wash both knives had significant rust spots , and despite rigorous attempts to remove them still remain."

^^^^^^^ HELL NO

Yawn................

Never buy anything from jean-patrique. Blades of those knives are very thick and useless really.

Try doing a search for "patrique"
I'll have a quid on -200 degrees

Poor quality and not worth the price with the reduction.

Saw this deal at 0 degrees and ordered them- as it was processing my payment i clicked back and saw these reviews- thankfully my payment went to Natwest secure for my password and i cancelled order !!! Thank you reviewers!!!

I heard that these aren't even worth the postage expense.

Thanks for the reviews everybody, I'm not actually recommending these knives BTW.
I just got an email about them and posted it on here to see what you all thought.

Got to agree with some of the other comments, the quality is appalling. If you love cooking, invest in decent knives, do NOT buy these!!!

This has been posted many times before with similar remarks to the above.

All I can say is that, for the price, I've given these as presents to two people and neither have given me a negative feedback although it's fair to say that they don't have dishwashers.

From my past experience; once you've gone past all the other items they're trying to sell you, I have found that before entering your payment details if you cancel your browser a pop-up will appear offering the knives at a reduced price, saving some pounds, but please don't complain if Jean-Patrique may now have stopped doing this.
A downside with buying with this company, which some might point out, is that they will keep sending you catalogues etc. Personally I put these straight out for recycling.

As good as you would expect for knives that are 80p each!

OP got pwned, feel sorry for them.

They do have a 30 day no quibble guarantee..... as long as you don't use them, just sit and look at them.................

Sick of getting emails from them, which even the blacklist function seems to ignore. Hard to recommend any company that needs to spam in order to sell their products. In my humble...

Anyone know if they are any good for disposing of bodies? Sick of having to replace the teeth on the chainsaw every few weeks.

No, you're much better off with the chainsaw that these knives. You might wanna try a decent saw though. I use a black and decker and found it stays sharper longer and makes a bit more mess.

Re the rust spots on knives after being washed in a dishwasher. Use a product called Bar keepers Friend (Sainsburys and others sell it for under £2) get the spots off a treat.

Why don't the mods just ban Jean-Patrique 'deals'?

They are a waste of time, and appear all the time.
Come mods lets stamp this rubbish out!

does anyone know of a good deal on knives then?

It is a great way to boost your HUKD "celebrity" rating (based on number of comments on your deals).

Sure, here's a company selling knives that are used (and abused) all day in commercial kitchens:

Knife Co homepage

Same on Amazon with reviews

Also worth buying is a decent 'sharpening steel' and find out how to use it gently - in other words not what Ramsay does!!!

Video on using a sharpening steel

A diamond steel will sharpen a knife as well as honing the cutting edge, but best used only when the edge needs more than honing.

Garbage, and con artists!

Love how the "McAfee Secure" logo on the page is fake, just an image and their own date

What idiot posted this? Jean Patrique should be banned from this site. Major con artists, and it shouldn't take more than a dozen grey cells to spot that.

Takes one to know one!

After six years as a HUKD member I would have thought that you would have seen previous posts announcing this rubbish. It always freezes as these knives are junk., and it really should be obvious that they are just modern snake oil salesmen.

Five professional knives for £13.98 - Doh!

Spam email and awful products

Don't talk out of your backside - I have bought several times from them and everyone comments on how good quality they are - I use the cooks knife almost daily, the knives are solid and very good quality.

I get one e-mail once in a blue moon from them. So you must have signed up to something that spams you with all sorts not just them.

i wanna buy ceramic knives, what is the better when it comes to quality? steel or ceramic?

Original Poster

Steel is better for knives. Ceramic is better for cups and plates, etc.
