Oops, the direct link doesn't work... The catalogue number is: 100-5813

I got one of these a while back - very good.

Top tip, the shredded paper helps add carbon in your compost bin. Spread it around, and it helps mix up the grass cuttings and rotten veg.

Nice tip bluecow! Never thought about it this way... After all paper is only laminated wood fibres, so it does make sense.
My parents have a fireplace (I mean a real one that burns wood), and they use that to help getting the fire started. There's nothing better than shredded paper! And nothing better than a real fire to curl up by in winter...

Thanks for the find dt_matthews. This one's a 2-sheet 5-litre model, but if you have to pay the delivery for the one at Tesco's, it can be interesting. Would be enough for me, still. Cheers!

cheers ;-)

this is not the same, you have to fold A4 to get it to fin into it, its a lot smaller!

hi gary, do you mean the Tesco one is smaller (I assume so since it is a smaller waste collector...)?

no the woolworths one is... Tesco is 18l bin, Woolworths is 5l bin.

doh, sorry, i meant W-worths one!! (bad day)

yep, that makes sense!

the tesco basket one had the same basket as this. Its a meshed basket and fine particles of shreded paper go everywhere. It just seems to create more dust.

Mmm, I guess you'll want to line it with a plastic bag then. Possibly transparent, so you don't have to open it to see if it's full.

Yeah the Tesco one is an A4 model, 5 sheets, 18L and shreds up to A3 folded, while Woolie's one is half the size, shreds 2 sheets at a time and holds 5L, but then it's perfect for use on a desktop if you don't shred much. I suppose it's all a matter of what you use it for and how often.

Top tip use the cuttings for your cats litter tray.I save a fortune with 7 cats

good idea...i'd never thought of that lol.

I bought one of these after Christmas when they were £14.97 instore and it's been excellent - only problem is (like a lot of these small shredders) that it overheats quite quickly and then needs time to cool down before it will SHRED SOME MORE.

Don't thrash it though and it's all good.

can you use both the £5 off and the 500 club card points voucher ?

Original Poster

Yep, they both worked for me ;-)

jg213 your avatar scares me!

Something a bit fishy about this deal - getting an email from Tesco about a declined credit card (when it's my Tesco credit card!) and have used it elsewhere today! Hmmm....!!

Heat added and rep given though!

Can't you use your usual debit card?

Will try it once more - I want those extra clubcard points lol!!

Ironically, Tesco Direct are currently "experiencing difficulties" taking payments from some Tesco Credit Card customers.....!

Give it a try tomorrow, the tech guys usually work at night :giggle:
It should still be available for a few days, it's not really a promotional offer, more like a regular item that saw a price drop.

OOS,clicks on expired.:-(

No worries bazr, this thread was getting old anyway :giggle:
The ones that were interested must have picked one by now...
