iD Mobile are running a special offer currently where you get "ShockProof" 250 mins + 5000 txt + 500MB (4G as standard) for £5 on 1 month rolling contract.

Its perfect for light users or a second sim IMO!

The difference between this and post office is, post office doesn't offer 4G!

For some reason this was spammed last time!

Looks pretty decent, 4G too!

Taken 4 of these out already for kids excellent coverage in our area

I wondered why the previous reference to this deal had vanished.

can this be used abroad like 3's feel at home?

can I use my existing number

Yes. I kept my number through iD Mobile app once I received my sim. They have an excellent app!! Simple to use.

excellent find! i didnt realise they had the seperate website for iD.. i'd only ever checked it out on the CPW site, and i was tempted wit this as a £7.50 sim, so this is great for £2.50 cheaper for the same! will go nicely in my dual sim Lumia 640 with a giffGaff sim

Presumably this could revert to £7.50 at any time?

Yes we have all ported over

Have an EE 10g sim in my 640 dual and a three 321 sim won't work unless it is the data enabled sim. Can you let me know if you have a problem with the id one?

Is there any sim whereby you can have 2 of them in 2 different phones(2 different numbers) and share the allowance with 1 monthly cost?

Only 500mb, that will be gone in a day

will do. i aint got the phone yet but wont be long...
just signed up for TopCashback.. (used quidco for years!) as iD wasnt on Quidco.. it's tracked already though! so signs are good..
500mb was the ideal amount of data as my previous orange contact was only 250mb.. but i barely used over 100mb in a month.. (check e mail and the odd google maps stuff) as free wi-fi is everywhere.. i dont understand why people need loads! isnt that what home broadband is for?

This is a great price for the package. Running on Three's network you get brilliant coverage. Voted hot.

If you're watching porn all day however for the light users who only check emails and maps this is great.

I can use 20gb in a day does that mean that the deal is cold? If so then EE are rubbish as that's the max internet you get!

what network does this run on?

True, but they have a valid point if they can use that in a day. This deal is not for those that can.

Better than topping up £10 for it to last 2 days. Thanks, ordered for missus.

My current contract will be ended by the end of August. Can I order one now and activate it later? (I don't want to miss this deal)

Yes, iD have a similar roaming plan but not on the offer posted here for a fiver.

You need to be on their takeaway plans, can only find them for sim+phone plans and starting at £25.

I'm very tempted by this, I only really use Whatsapp when I'm out, so the internet is no problem, and the texts and calls are more than enough. I'm just afraid it will turn in to another Ovivo saga once a few years go by (I was on Ovivo, loved it too). Hmm.. decisions decisions..

Erm... I am confused by your comment. I fail to see how this would turn in to another Ovivo saga when this sim deal is for £5 month.

What I meant was, I'd hate the company to have the same fate as Ovivo, I'm not saying it will, but the offer is so good I can see it either being increased or the company going to shambles, I'm just being wary this time around.

EDIT: What does it mean by a capped contract?

you're really worried about what's going to happen in a few years time when its a monthly rolling contract? i'd go easier on the hand-wringing if i were you and start living for the moment (or at least the rolling month!).

when would it be valid from,is it as soon as you activate it or from the date of delivery.

I'd really like to know that too!

Your contract would start as soon as the sim is activated

free roaming in 22 countries(TakeAway plans ): Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden and USA.
more than three

EDIT: What does it mean by a capped contract? [/quote]

It says you cannot go over your limit by more than £5.

I hope that's the case. BT mobile contracts start the day after you order the SIM which is great when it gets lost in the post

I not sure that really is a good thing. Their definition of capped is ".. so you’ll never be able to go over your limit by more than a fiver!".

If you exceed your allowance then you'll pay their out-of-plan charges - which are 40p/min a call, 14p a text and just over 10p per MB of data. At those prices, you'll easily run up an extra £5 in no time.

I'm not saying this is a bad deal (there are a lot worse out there), but personally I prefer Three's PAYG - which costs 3p/min, 2p/text and 1p/MB. You also get 150MB data free, every time you top-up.
