This is just an example it is super easy to change the dates and durations of the stay in each place. There were plenty other destinations to stop at however these ones are the most popular.

All the trains I’ve chosen are in second class, which for the days that you’ll be spending overnight, includes a bed and bedding. If you don’t mind 3rd class you can save yourself a considerable amount of £££

All of the accommodation I’ve chosen are hostels with shared dorms, as this deal is for a solo traveller. If you want a private room and bathroom it will up the price considerably.

There is plenty of other accommodation to choose from, if you don’t like the ones I’ve found.

Many of the stops you get off at you may want to visit further afield, however I’ve just chosen hostels in the city’s where the train stops, you can modify this to your own itinerary if you’d like to do an excursion.

This deal only includes hand luggage as it should be a back packers holiday. There will be plenty of places to do laundry along the trip. If you feel you need to add luggage this will come at a cost on the flights

Don’t forget most hotels have city tax to pay upon departure in major cities, this is usually only a few €€€ per night.

Some of the screen shots say “male only room” there is also a female only room option on these hotels.

Price for this trip doesn’t include Visa’s, make sure you get the correct visas for the countries included in this itinerary.

Check the website Seat 61.com, use the filter marked train travel worldwide you'll then see trans-siberian trip the blogger states it is safe even for solo females. Also lists alternative routes although costs will vary.
Great effort, I love the idea of this, but I can’t get the film ‘hostel’ out of my head
Wonder if anyone actually books as a result of these. They always get hot but....
Plus Russian visa £100, Chinese visa ????
Tempting as i fancy going somewhere hotter than here at the moment
Good effort finding all the rooms etc but who has that money to spend and wants to sleep in an 8 dorm? An unacceptable deal for those who might have been interested. I’d be astonished if anyone booked it on these terms ... genuinely
Awesome effort awesome price
The Cologne hostel's really good. Stayed there a couple of years ago - very civilised and highly recommended. Don't know the Beijing end of the journey, as I was lucky enough to travel the other way round, from Vladivostok to Moscow on the train some years ago, stopping at some of the places mentioned. It was a brilliant trip, well worth it. Agree you should have a look at Seat 61 for up to date advice. The third class used to be open bunks, very mixed with families and all varieties of people. This was reckoned to be the safest way to travel, as there are plenty of folk all around. We didn't have any problem at all with security, in the two berthers we had, mind you. I'd advise keeping your passport etc on you all the ime, as we nearly missed the train at one stop, having nipped off to get something to eat! Definitely worth it, and a wonderful piece of work putting this all together.
I've done Moscow to Beijing in second and it was great, very social, you are in four bed cabins but lots of people coming and going. I don't know if it's changed but was warned strongly against doing third class on the st Petersburg to Moscow leg by multiple people as it's full of pick pockets but the rest of the journey is fine in third, that might of improved though, check seat61 like others have said.
great effort op. kudos for putting in the time to spec out what this can be done for. You're sparking my interest as well on this one.
Great effort, wish i could vote twice.

Huge congratulations for putting this together OP, I'm absolutely in awe of people who will not only plan such a trip, but share their efforts here. Well done. I wish I could do the trip, maybe one day!
