80 cups @ £11.25? Are you having a laugh?
Holy smokes. £11.25 for 80 cups of tea??

I have a Tassimo machine and love it for coffee, but am going to switch to Nespresso soon purely because of the much cheaper, compatible pods.
These pod-pushing firms are missing-out on an obvious source of revenue.

Water pods. The gullible podiots would buy water by the pod too if only it were offered to them.
Teabags and kettles have already been invented, so why bother with Tassimo to make a cup of tea?
I’m guessing none of you have been in the ‘outside world’ where you pay north of £1.5 for a cup of tea. I (and many more like me) are ready to pay for the convenience of this pod, which pours you a cup of tea in a single step, v/s boiling water, pouring it, scrounging for tea bag, waiting for brew, removing tea bag. If you don’t agree, that’s fine and understandable. But there is a market for this product just as much as there is a market for literally anything which may have a specific set of audience, especially if it brings convenience.

In your defence of the pod system, you are missing out the step of filling the machine with water without spilling any and also comparing the price of a tea in a retail outlet against the 'convenience' of having a Tassimo machine in your kitchen or bedroom.

Surely that's similar to comparing the price of a tank of diesel for my punto against the convenience of a chauffeur driven jag.

Or am I missing something ?

You've obviously never used a Tassimo. First of all the flavours are excellent. On a busy morning it is much quicker to make a hot beverage than traditional kettle method. The prepared drink is at a temperature where it can be consumed straightaway. I agree that prices are creeping up but 3 x 16 cups of good coffee from the Asda offer is good value. Discounters such as Poundstretchers are now selling the Jacobs range & Lindt hot chocolate which are very rare on the high Street. Ohh & did I mention how good they taste........ unless of course you are still intp Mellow Birds inwhich case your redemption is unlikely.

Personally I'd find not having to carry a tassimo machine with me when I'm out and about far more convenient, but each to their own.

Proper tea require boiling water - something these machines cannot do.

Well considering your point about there being a market for these, even at this bargain price with 25% off.. this deal ain't doing too well!

By that logic, just because people spend upwards of £5 a pint in a pub, how many would also like to take those prices home with them?

a) You refill the tank once every 5-6 cups. b) If you have fine psychomotor skills, you won't spill a drop while you're refilling. c) You may not find it convenient, but several other people may.

Yes, that's exactly why Twinings continues to manufacture these pods for years now. If it was a loss making product, I wouldn't have been sharing it here since it wouldn't have existed anymore. There is a market for it, and for those who want it, would buy it. If you were to go for how ratings and temperature work on this website, not only is it influenced by people's personal predilections, but they have a ritual of voting and commenting for all the wrong reasons.

Jar of QT instant tea, or lemon tea, drop a couple of spoons in a cup and if you so wish use your tassimo to boil the water if a kettle is too much trouble, No squeezing the bags.

Problem sorted,
