First deal, so be gentle

There is a glitch on the PCWorld (maybe Currys) too that allows you to purchase AND ACTIVATE a 5 year 500GB Cloud Backup account with Livedrive for just 1p!

I have activated mine just now and can see the expiry date in 2016, and the storage of 500GB!

Here's how:

1) Go to pcworld.co.uk/gbu…tml and purchase for just 1p (select home delivery)

2) Once you have your PCW order number, go to livedrive.com/kno…oud and put 540108 in the SKU field, and your PCW order number in the second.

3) Fill out the forms as required. They will ask for card details but only so that the account can renew in 2016. You can email them before this date to close your account and not renew.

4) Enjoy your 5 years of 500GB online cloud backup for just 1p!

Couldn't think of a worse thing to get cancelled when they discover the glitch...

or maybe they get you hooked and after 5 years they make you pay up

I was thinking more along the lines of we 'Know How' to fix things, not.
If there is a server crash they will just reformat the server and reinstall windows, sorry about your lost data.

Just what I needed ...

Quidco?

Hmm - no Quidco .... voted COLD ... kidding ... just purchased.

I added the 5 years and the 1 year service was added automatically. Total cost still 1p - is that normal?

Um, looks like you have to cancel in the first year ... otherwise you are forced to renew.

All of my CC cards expire within 5 years , can't renew if they don't have valid cc details lol !

For 1p you might as well risk even if they don't go through with it

Can you risk having important data on it though when they deny you access

Same thing at beecloud.eu/ a reseller of Livedrive, 512GB backup, no cost and not a trial.

Just spotted that on my order screen but my order confirmation email states

KNOWHOW - Cloud Backup Service - 5 Years

Ordered. I chose 5years and it checked out as one year !?!

its £75 now!!!

Great Deal

Just received order confirmation
5years and 1years 0.00p

They've sussed it! Expire : (

You should probably google for the stories about livedrive. They have cut off people who purchased via resellers because the reseller had not paid the fees - in addition they killed all the users data, so even if the user paid up the data was gone.

oh yeah baby !! ohhhhhhhh yeah baby got 5 to sell on Ebumber some suckers bound to buy them lol

I have just done this but when I was setting up the subscription details and it got to the bit where it asks for credit card details it says...

"Please note that you will not be charged anything now - only when your account renews on the 06/12/2016. You can cancel your account at any time within your first year and your card will not be charged."

does this mean if you don't cancel within the first year you will have to pay £89.95?

is this why it's only 1p....

Subscription Details
Your KNOWHOW™ Cloud account will start today and renew on 06/12/2016 for £89.95 To ensure that your account stays active and your files are safe, we need to collect your billing details.

Please note that you will not be charged anything now - only when your account renews on the 06/12/2016.
You can cancel your account at any time within your first year and your card will not be charged.

WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE ME? Do I have to cancel within year one in order to keep for 5 years?

rm12345 & Kiichiro, will your card still be valid 06/12/16?

its dead

Thanks OP got it. It would have been good if it was "Briefcase" backup service but can't ask more for this price Heat added.

@afly
Nope. Expires in 2013
I have gone through whole process and LIvedrive account settings says my next due payment is Tuesday, 6th December 2016.
I can't see that they can make me pay in 5 years time, if I don't cancel within 12 months.

Actually ... that's a good point otherwise you're locked in forever ...

Just received a, "We've cancelled your order" email. Interesting one this though as the product I ordered 5 years 500GB backup has already been delivered and I am using it!

I don't see how they can cancel something you've paid for, they've delivered, and you've started to use.

Did they refund the 1p?

They say they are refunding the 1p. But as I am now using the goods, I don't really see how they can reasonably cancel the order at this stage. It's like buying a packet of crisps in Tesco, and as you walk down the street eating them, being chased by the manager offering your money back. It's too late.

Just received a cancelled your order email from pcworld, I was already using it before I got their email. What will happen now I wonder.

has anybody used this?how reliable is this?

You can just enter the SKU, and a random PCW(22 digit number) I just have... and its now telling me to insert card details to be charged on 2016.. lol

ordered 10. Hopefully get cancelled.

From their website, re: Cancelled Order.

We cannot refund/cancel your purchase:
Para 2. There is a contract for services with the product and you have started using the services; this would include, for example, a mobile phone subscription

Should I insist on them taking the refunded penny as they are obviously in breach of their own terms and conditions for cancelling the order?
