Shows on my BA Amex card, now to find someone to foot the remaining £650 bill to buy the entry level iPhone

T&Cs states online purchases only, excluding iTunes, App and Apple Music purchases. So can be used for purchasing and hardware or Apple Store gift cards.

I’ve usually bought £500 worth of Apple Store gift cards with this offer in the past and used the gift to purchase the new iPhone when it comes out in September/October.

FYI save on my main and supplementary platinum cashback cards.

Interestingly, it appears on my platinum but not on my AMEX Premium Plus BA card.
It’s on my free BA AMEX
Assume we can buy the £500 voucher like last pre-iPhone release.
Sweeeeeeeet thanks!!

Has anyone ever successfully used this directly on the education store? Presumably you could buy a gift card regardless and then use it via the education store?
If it were £500 off of £1000, it'd NEARLY make their products worth it!
Showing for my Green AMEX too
This is showing for my AMEX rewards card.

Just a thought, if you have a iPhone 6s to trade in you could reduce the price

iPhone XR from £499. iPhone XS from £749. and if you go for the iPhone XS you could get the £50 and then use the points on the purchase to reduce further or if you have just taken out the AMEX card to redeem the bonus points.

Just have to find the odd £699 lol
Maximum value of gift card is £200

Good one @Chanchi32
Can you stack multiple £500 giftcards into one purchase if you have multiple offers for this?

If it says iPhone then surely it applies for iPhones only?
has anyone used this offer successfully with purchasing a gift card please ?
The £50 you save could probably be had elsewhere for the difference anyway - let's be honest if you're spending a grand which is likely on an iPhone, it's 5% off. So AMEX customers without it, don't be too disheartened.

Just had a quick look, eBuyer have the iPhone XS 64gb for £959.97. £999 from Apple, not a huge difference. Probably get it cheaper again - added option of 0% on purchasing credit cards to boot.

I have used Apple Store gift cards to make education purchases both in store and on the online education store in the past

If you mean using multiple gift cards to buy products from the Apple store, then yes you can both in store and online
Apple refurb Store ?

I was trying to work out something like this. My 6S is on its third battery and causing me issues. It would mean the handset works out about £21 a month when spread over 24 months, which paired with a plusnet sim is far cheaper than anything else out there.

But, it’s still a huge chunk of money and I think there have been comparable prices on hukd recently without the need for a trade in

C. Transactions that are not eligible
The following transactions are not eligible and will not count towards your spend for the purposes of the offer:
  • transactions where you do not spend directly with the merchant (for example, if you buy the merchant’s goods through a third party department store);
  • transactions processed through a third party payment processor;
  • transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded;
  • transactions where the merchant does not pass on the information we need to process it properly within the offer period (for example, when their payment systems are down and they cannot process the transaction electronically)
  • transactions where you buy a gift card, store credit or a voucher.

Please prove me wrong

Every other Amex deal has that restriction. Over the years I’ve bought gift cards from Wilko, Morrisons, Argos, FatFace and countless shop small participants. Don’t blame me if it goes wrong, but on paper, how does Amex know what you’ve purchased?

Opposite here, showed on my BA premium card but not on my business platinum. Problem is, I need it on my business card. On both would be a bonus.

I have done with a gift card, yes it works.
Why waste money on overpriced Apple products!
On my BAPP Amex... but I'll never use this offer!

i have a lloyds amex would this apply

Unlikely, I got a couple of "Shop small" offers a few years back, but nothing since. In any case the card is being withdrawn and replaced with a MasterCard with very poor rewards. I've already ditched it and got a card from AMEX themselves.
