Are there only 10 months in a year

£35 annually would make it £2.92 a month - assuming 12 month in a year obviously(angel)

If you pay one-off then it will be less than if you pay monthly
This doesn't seem to be combining with Quidco - where its all full price? Anyone else having this problem please?
If I go through Quidco, the discount isn't actually showing. Good price anyway so will just forfeit the cashback!
New customers only ?

Doesn't show when going through either cashback site...but still cheaper even if you factor in the cashback so no brainer. Interestingly, it doesn't appear if you go to RAC page direct...is it some kind of secret sale or something?!

...my AA is due for renewal just before Christmas and I've just received the letter offering me, as a valued, loyal member, the special price of £288.72! The equivalent RAC deal via this link is £118.50!!! ...even without the deal RAC only charge £194. So much for being a loyal AA member eh, I'm going to phone them up in a bit to see how far they come down to the RAC £118.50 price

If you buy, make sure you don't get caught with auto renewal,I never saw that rip off when I signed up online 2 years ago

It looks as though a 'new customer' counts as anyone who hasn't been a member in the last 4 months. So if you've not been a member for over that amount of time you I doubt you'll have any issues taking this up
They all are equally bad as each other, AA/RAC

Does it really take 3 hours to come out to you when you live in central london? bloody clowns
In this day and age cars are rarely repairable by the roadside beyond punctures or dead batteries. One tow of sensible length could cost you a few hundred quid. I would pay extra for greater coverage myself.

I added home and the towing and it came to £72.50 for the year so still a great deal!

Bloody hell.... Definitely agree with you there... So much for being loyal customer. Do they think we consumers are stupid or something?

I left RAC after over 20 years membership to go to companies like Autoaid/autoassist and whilst cheaper I found that these new breakdown companies are not set up to solve problems at the roadside apart from towing it to a garage which is a problem if you then find that garage is far from you and your car if then a "ransom" object. You are stuck with agreeing they do the work at whatever charge they like or hiring another tow service to take your car elsewhere.

I was very pleased however that twice they towed it home under the terms of my policy which meant a journey of over 35 miles. I think the model for these it that it is cheaper to do a tow than employ a mechanic.

However, whilst pleased, I do miss that someone tries to fix the issue so will consider taking up this RAC offer.

Thanks; just grabbed this with a few extras. I used to be with RAC, but went with an Emergency Assist deal for this year (which was only £35 but bare basics and I knew it wouldn't be great if I actually needed it). But my previous RAC renewal with the extras I want is around £210 and was £120 today with the deal. As my car is on the older side, I figured this would be peace of mind, for a not too unreasonable price.

It is one of them, if you don't need it, then it is money you don't see much for, but if you breakdown 250 miles away, on the way home, it is fantastic to have the onwards travel cover, so they take you and your car all the way back home, and for your car, to a local garage of your choosing. It only takes a single instance of this sort of thing and suddenly it all seems splendid!
Been with the AA for many years and they usually cave in and offer some sort of discount to match (or come close to) their online prices for new customers. Not this time. Cheapest they'd offer me is £70 more expensive than the new customer price. Sure I'd lose the 'gold benefits' (which I never asked for). Will take up this offer. Thanks OP.
