Welcome back @Boz ,have you been self isolating?
I've read a fair few of the works listed above and they do make a good read apart from J Conrad's. Surprised Faulkner's 'As I lay dying' isn't included there as it's equally off-putting and critically acclaimed at the same time. It's probably advisable you try to read either of them so you can later appreciate the really well-written books that just flow and are very difficult to put down.
