Already married and have engagement ring but love this diamond ring and have to have it!

its not a single diamond - just a cluster of wee diddy ones....

1/2 carat for £199? I reckon the clarity will be pretty poor

I'm guessing it is a cluster of many small diamonds with a total half carat, if it was a single half carat diamond then the price would be very different.

Bit cheapish but okay if your boyfriends skint

Yes, there's a lot of difference between the .5 carat value of a solitaire and diamond dust. Still a good deal though.

Try and get a decent .50ct diamond for under £200, you are looking at atleast 1k for a semi decent one.

It isn't a diamond for £200 so your point is irrelevant I'm afraid.

I was answering his question, he asked why the clairty wouldn't be good for £200. It's obvious it would be a solitare for £200 but they were asking why the clairty of a .50ct diamond wouldn't be good, not the multiple tiny ones.

Well thats the way I read it. For £200 this ring is a decent deal due to it being multiple small stones, if it was a single i'm sure it would be cloudy, yellowish and full of flaws.

And if it was a cucumber I'm sure it would be green. What on Earth are you talking about!!!

Shuffle.

It's not about number of posts, don't get childish! The point I am making is that this is an item with a number of stones, and you are banging on about the liklihood getting a single diamond of decent quality for the same price. They are two entirely different things so your posts make no sense. If there was a deal to buy six old skodas for two grand, you posting "you try to get a decent Ferrari for two grand" would be equally irrelevant.

Don't take it so personally!

i think they are talking about diamonds, their clarity and their quality and in turn their value comapired to the aformentioned.

if it is 1 diamond in the ring and it was 1/2 carat of decent clarity then it would be the steal of the year.

this deal is for a total carat value of 1/2 carat made up of several small diamonds.

it is NOT the same, rather like if you had 4 mini metro cars each being 1 litre engines, would you count it the same as an A/C cobra with a 4 litre engine?

orded hot thanx

I'm saying it's not the same, he started banging on about clarity of single diamonds!

Seems nice, nice discount

£867 for single a diamond

Diamonds are a minimum of Colour J / Clarity I1 and are Certified. Ring them up and they will tell you the exact spec of the diamond.

be warned, i got a similar ring to this for my mrs from H samual feb 09, its tarnished twice and during the second "clean" which they keep the ring for 2 weeks, one of the diamonds fell out, we didnt notice until we got home and took it back then they said they had to send it to quality audit to see if it was their fault or due to accidental damage on our behalf. 2 weeks later they rang back saying it was ready for collection, got there and they said it was classed as our fault, they repaired it and there is an £80 charge to get the ring back.
the dispute is ongoing, and the quality of the ring is questionable, once i get the ring back from them for free, i will bin it and buy her a new one from a proper place.

Cheap ring at a cheap price - so neither hot nor cold really.

Jewellery is never good value. If you like it, that's all that matters. If you're looking to impress someone else they'll have to be pretty ignorant.

This looks nice not sure I'd pick it myself, I like some small stones at the side and one bigger one in middle. £200 is pretty reasonable for an engagement ring though. I do think H Samuel are overpriced and £200 is probably more like the price it should be rather than £400 they say it orgininally was. Then again, I don't have a clue about Diamonds, it could be from Argos, I wouldn't know the difference!

I think small independant jewellers are probably better for rings, or even better get one made.

i'm guessing he didn't see it was a cluster of small diamonds and just assumed it was 1. Thats what i did to start with and had to re read the post

If you are going to "bin it" why not give it to a charity shop to help them out, rather than waste it by throwing it away.

Alternatively, if you have a bit more cash to spend you could always ]go for this ring! :w00t: :w00t:

nice for the money - out of stock now though
cheers op

Some of the reviews for that ring are hilarious. :whistling:

My brother Michael bought one of these for his best friend who he he liked to call Bubbles. Bubbles' old ring was badly damaged and worn out - Michael thought it had got a bit loose and his digit kept falling out. Sadly Michael passed on recently and never got to find out if the ring was tight or not. I will be returning the ring for a full refund as we have a bit of a cash flow crisis at present. Janet.

This seems cheap, but hurry, only one in stock.....

Blasphemous;7337695

Why?

Because a 1/2 carat diamond would be in the region of 2k not £199!!

These rings (and necklaces set the same way) often loose their diamonds, its a ok ring not to my taste to be honest I would rather a single 'fake' diamond solitaire than one of these clusters - just due to the style.
