Always liked to have one of these but the price put me off. Now the price is more bearable and have ordered one. Looks like promotion by Le Creuset, same price in John Lewis (don't know why they are banned from HUKD).

Grill and sear meats to five-star restaurant quality with this integral Signature Square Grillit from Le Creuset. It delivers all the delicious flavour of an outdoor grill, with all the convenience of indoor cooking. With its ability to grill at higher surface temperatures, you can chargrill your chicken, perfect your medium-rare steak or firm up your smoked fish.

Key features:

  • Cast iron for superior heat retention
  • High ridges create char lines and drain off excess fat
  • Hygienic, durable and easy to clean enamel interior
  • Side spouts for drip-free pouring
  • Oven and grill safe
  • Easy-grip handle and helper handle
  • Suitable for use on all heat sources, including induction
  • Available in a choice of colours
  • Lifetime guarantee

Versatile use and healthier cooking
The grillit is perfect for making quick, easy suppers and is ideal for searing meats, poultry, fish, patties, vegetables and even fruits with little or no fat, making it a healthier way to cook too. High ridges covering the entire base of the pan produce distinctive char lines making your food look incredibly appetising while draining away excess fat or grease. To cook well: oil the meat, fish or vegetables, not the grillit.

Cast iron benefits
The grillit is made of cast iron, a very efficient material at grilling thanks to its superior heat retention. Your food will seal very quickly with a delicious caramelized effect while locking in moisture, nutrients and flavours for succulent results. A quick to test to check if the temperature of the grillit is ready for cooking: throw a little water on the surface; if it stays in the pan without evaporating, it’s not yet hot enough. Be careful of the cast iron handles heating up.

Enamel interior
Hygienic and easy to clean, the textured black enamel interior has been especially designed for high surface heat use and does not require seasoning. Very durable, it will not wear off and will develop a natural patina over time that is ideal for searing and frying.

Ergonomic handle and pouring spouts
Setting the Signature Grillit apart are its large ergonomic main handle and easy-grip helper handle providing extra stability when lifting a full pan. Spouts on two sides allow for drip-free pours of juices and sauces and the deep sides of this grill help to keep food splashes in the pan.

Induction compatible and lifetime guarantee
Suitable for use on all heat sources, including induction, in the oven and under the grill, the Square Grillit is available in a wide choice of colours to perfectly complement every kitchen and style. Its compact design makes for easy storage and it comes with a lifetime guarantee for complete peace of mind.

Get ready for unwarranted Creuset bashing. Great deal and same price at John Lewis with their store warranty

I have one of these and whilst it's a great griddle pan potential purchasers should be aware that it is an extremely heavy pan to lift.
Their warranty is awesome. My griddle pan developed a problem after 5 years of use, they swapped it out for a new one with no questions asked. Heat.
@Titanium I imagine they’re banned as these boys don’t make any commission from them

These are worth every penny, but honestly with a little patience you can pick up mint used ones on a well known auction site for £20-£30 pretty often (I paid £12 for mine from a Chinese student who was moving back home).

For chargrill let the pan get REALLY hot add a little olive oil and away you go.

If you can, try to track down the much much harder to find Le Creuset Press, which is the same size as the skillet but sits on top of your meat to, by it's weight, 'press' it into the skillet thus getting a much better crust. I've managed to pick up two of them but it took me 6 years.
Isn't just The Creuset now?
Had one of these for years. Very good. Heavy, so also takes a while to heat up.

Having moved to induction with rectangular bridged zones, I've started using the rectangular grill, which is excellent.
Heat added! Excuse the pun. Ive managed to spend £90 before getting out of bed...great
You can get the exact same thing at ProCook for a fraction of the price, obviously it's not Le Creuset branded but almost identical and comes with a 25year guarantee which is spot on as they replace without any drama. procook.co.uk/sho…dle

If anyone lives around colchester, i know le creuset has an outlet store in braintree, this store has year round promotions and you could get jt for this price or even cheaper sometimes. I opted for the pro cook!
Have to be honest, I don't rate mine. My Mum gave it to me as it was too heavy for her. It welds food to itself, spits, smokes and the pain of cleaning it, the cooker, the worktops and myself isn't worth the hastle of using! I've repeatedly tried and it just doesn't work for me...

Le Creucet website states the following on the care of the pan:

"Satin Black enamel will keep its good looks and allow a patina to build on its surface with continued use. A patina is the result of the natural oils and fats from foods baking on to the hot surface. The patina should not be cleaned off, as it enhances the cooking performance and the release of foods. It also reduces the need for surface oiling."

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I agree with patina, and know that these need to season, I can't leave a load of charred food stuck to it though! Yuk. It's the substantial food residue that's the issue.

My understanding from the manufacturer's instruction is, these do not need seasoning, as these come with enamelled coating.
