Mi Store online are running a promotion where you can get 50% off a Mi A2 4GB+64GB. Answer a very simple question to get the discount code, also if you order via the Mi app, you will get an extra £5 off.

play.google.com/sto…_gb

It's obviously a gimmick, as the question is so simple. If you don't really know the answer to the question, wait a few seconds and it tells you anyway!

Play to win vouchers and get up to 50% discounts! 12:00 16th Sep - 23:59 29th Sep. Yeah but the 50% discount is only actually available on the A2.

Good price for what still is a decent phone, stock Android One, no MIUI. Plus 2 year Xiaomi warranty.

Also the larger 6gb + 128gb version is available half price too.

Pay the extra and get the 128gb for 157 as you can not add external memory down the line
Not bad deal at all, but half price would really be around the £80 mark. The Mi A2 can regularly be bought around the £160 mark. Xiaomi playing their mind games again.

Still £125 -£129 is rather good.

Yeah, it's nearly always the FULL inflated RRP via Xiaomi normally, so take their usual price with a pinch of salt. Just trying to shift more A2's quickly before they officially and finally launch their A3 to UK buyers, they must think we don't know you can buy it elsewhere! Good price for this phone with a proper warranty though.

The Black 64gb version is already sold out
Voted hot
Shows £127 as £5 off via app from 259 price and then 50% off coupon.
I've got one. Lovely little phone but it may pay to invest in a hybrid case because the camera lens is otherwise quite vulnerable.

From memory it comes with a gel case, but yeah the lens sticks out slightly.

Have to be realistic . 5G phones are three times the price. Wish they were selling Mi Mix 3 5G unlocked and with discount. This phone is not for me as already got 5G phone but will make a very nice gift .

For most, 5G will be next year, or the year after's phone, price wise. Plus if you live where I live, you're lucky if you can bloomin get 3G!

You will be surprised that even 3G & 4G works better in 5G phone due to advanced features and bigger Antenna inside the phone. If you have 5G SIM , you are on higher priority on the network and all network bands available to you . If you are on cheaper plan from Virgin etc on EE network , you signal is crippled as very few bands available and your priority very low on the network . Some people may think their phone is defective but it's the EE network which has deliberately crippled them to deliver better services to their higher paying 4G / 5G contracts.

If you want a good wifi experience. I would be very wary with this phone.

It disconnects a lot, even if you are close to the router.

It's an 11ac wifi too.

The apps just lose connection even though the wifi says its still connected.

This happens on Pie.

I bought one for my son last April and he's never had this problem. Maybe he's been lucky, but it's odd that that would be an issue these days. I wonder if there's a solution, did you contact Xiaomi? They have live chat on the UK site.

This problem is well known on the Xiaomi forums.

It is believed that the issue is either hardware or software or combination of both.

Some ppl have flashed to their miui image and it seems to have solved the problem for them indicating it might be an issue with Xiaomi's Android One as this problem isnt occurring on the Pixel.

Some people have it happens when you are using and ssid broadcasting in both bands.

I might try splitting up the bands.
No idea whether mi WiFi is on both bands. But I'd contact Xiaomi's customer services and see if they can help. I bet it's a real pain in the backside if it keeps disconnecting.

I did a bit of research on it, you may have already tried it, but changing the channel of your WiFi on your router might help. Someone with a similar issue, strangely solved it by reloading their SIM cards APN settings, and restarting their phone. Failing that you could try Settings > System > Advanced > Reset option > Reset WiFi, mobile and bluetooth.

thanks.

tried all that. tried battery saver, adaptive screen brightness. I noticed a slight improvement.

enabled developer mode to see verbose wifi logging. signal is strong. but it has a tendency to jump between 2.4 and 5ghz bands quite frequently. Even when close.

yeah really annoying when using mobile apps like games p2p. even happens on yt and browsing. just happens. try a different app and that works only for it to fail again.

not sure if this is happening on oreo. but some ppl reported it has.
Ok. splitting the bands seems to have worked.

i think this device has a problem with band selection. or there is an incompatibility with band steering from that particular router.
Totally put off of this after reading about the WiFi problems on the web!
