Sorry? You voted cold because you feel the need to buy in game crap?

I think they meant that paying extra for the Special Edition gets you a Bank Heist mission and a handful of cosmetics, and paying extra again for this Ultimate Edition gets you another handful of cosmetics.

The Ultimate Edition was poor value at launch and would have to be very, very close to the price of RDR2 Vanilla to be a "deal". Deals are not about the "cheapest" prices. Deals are about getting the most from your money. In this case, £36 for the vanilla version download, or £30 for it on disc from Amazon, or £20 for it pre-owned from Game would all seem to be better options. Paying an extra ~50% for a Bank Heist mission and some cosmetics? There's a word for that, and the word is "egads!"

As for the game itself... good fun, almost as good as the original, but bizarrely hampered by the most unintuitive controls I've experienced in a game this century.

Thanks! Seems those voting cold don't agree? I can't see it anywhere cheaper, perhaps those jumping in to vote cold will provide a link to a better deal as there doesn't seem to be one at the moment

Cheapest I can find it so not sure why the cold votes
Heat op, I can’t understand the negativity surrounding this game. I thought it was the most immersive game I have ever played. Loved every minute of it.

Probably because they are ignoring the deal element and voting based on the fact the game is about as much fun as watching paint dry. This isn’t a game, it is a technical masterpiece, a show off piece. It’s equivalent in movie terms is the recent Once upon a time in Hollywood, a self indulgent labour of love which apart from a few short scenes, lacks any entertainment value. This game requires and quite rightly deserves time and effort, which unfortunately the casual gamer doesn’t have the time for.
Thank OP. Been waiting for the price to drop. Just purchased it now.

Mine is remote downloading to my Xbox. I won't be home until Monday, so it'll be waiting for me when I arrive

I'm playing it right now, it's a great game. But it is what it is, open world game. You like that genre, or you don't.
Voted cold, because in the end you just pay extra for useless cosmetics.

Agreed. A deluxe edition content needs to equate to the undead nightmare expansion or the stories of liberty city content with previous games not cosmetics unless you’re dead set on ploughing hours into the multiplayer.

Most likely cosmetic DLC than a full blown side story but here’s hoping

I like open world games, this one however crosses the fine line of being needlessly realistic instead of fun.

I voted cold because what is on offer in this edition is in game crap, that i don't need to buy ever. Here you're still paying extra for that. Buy the normal edition and keep the extra money for another game

Yeah sorry, I get that now. Rockstar's marketing strategy for this is nasty. If you want a couple of extra bits for online you have to pay for the story extras as well.
Like you say, a lot of cash for very little. I don't feel so bad coz I got mine from foreign market place but even then it was a rip off.

The fun you got from it is objective - there's plenty of fun to be had for most. I agree, there's sections that certainly value story over gameplay. But then its that story that really fleshes out the characters and the world they live in, that has you totally engrossed...or turns you off. Personally I played it till completion and i reckon it's a story that will stick with me and I'll remember my time with the game fondly. I had plenty of fun playing it. And the slow pacing really paid off in the end.

It's a game that asks you to commit to it though. Jumping in and out every few weeks I can imagine it wouldn't feel like you're accomplishing much.

It's definitely in my top 5 this gen though.
