If I cancelled today would this offer still be available in 30 days time (the time it takes for them to cancel the service)?

Awww. Heated anyway.

Just change name on account?

I phoned up and cancelled last month.
Was phoned within a few days and offered my previous package (family+movies) for half price for a year.

There's no reward for loyalty anymore!

I rang yesterday to cancel movies and discuss my options as my current deal (25% off) runs out on 17th October and was immediately offered the whole package, including movies and sports for 50% off for 12 months which then also included free broadband unlimited-----£59.65 per month for full TV+ Movies+Sports+Multiroom and HD+Broadband & line rental. Obviously the catch was having to agree to a further 12 month contract

This says mainland only? Does it exclude Northern Ireland and Scottish Islands?

Would that work?

if you have a partner get them to sign up in theyre name/bank account

Sky, no thank you

When everything is taken in to account, it's a fair bit cheaper to get it through TCB for Movies/Sports.

TCB Total 12months - 25% off/£50 bill credit and cashback.

Movies - £160.25.
Sports - £232.25
Complete - £433.25

50% off & £25 voucher

Movies - £213.
Sports - £261
Complete - £444

Except cash back isn't guaranteed

I think it is still cheaper to go through the carphone warehouse.
Line rental, Family bundle and unlimited broadband £15.40 for 12 months....plus £50 voucher (M&S, Tesco, Mastercard).
£25 set up and £6.95 delivery.

I called for the 4 time yesterday and finally cancelled-even though we've been with them for 14 years, the best they offered was half price line rental! garbage.let's see if they call my bluff or actually give me a call and offer something else

they will call you back.

I do this every year.

I cancelled in April and they didn't call with an offer. Frankly though, cheap broadband plus Netflix plus Now TV covers everything I really want for a fraction of the cost.

The key is to wait for the correct person to call you back. Rung to cancel and did so. On the third call back from Sky they offered us half price.

I cancelled my Sky TV subscription in June this year, since then they've emailed, phoned and posted various deals to me all of which I said no to. Then 2 weeks ago I got an offer of 60% off any package PLUS £100 credited to my account. I phoned them up to ask about prices etc and still dithered a bit. That was when they then offered a FREE family bundle for a year if I signed up for a 12 mth contract. I jumped at the opportunity, all I have to remember is to cancel in 11 mths time before it jumps to £33 a month. I have already got free broadband with them for 12 mths ( which I got when I cancelled my TV in June) so all I pay is line rental and any potential call charges.

How true nowadays

Miss spell name on application that works as I have done it this year and got it half price again.

Typical Sky. Offer loads of good deals and bundles to new customers... Current existing loyal customers, they couldn't give two hoots about.

be careful with phoning to cancel - I cancelled 18 months ago, expecting a deal to be offered. I got nothing! Although I'm happy with my YouView, Lovefilm combo, which is miles cheaper than my old Sky package

Ordered, may thanks!

How is this different to any other media company? They all offer loss leader deals to attract new customers knowing that a significant percentage of them won't be arsed to renegotiate their contracts once all the Brucie bonus offers run out.

I cancelled a couple of weeks ago after 20 yrs with them explaining that I was not impressed with the new customer and returning customer deals and that my subscription was subsidising better deals for friends. One is currently on £5pm TV and another completely free TV for 12 months.
At the time I was offered £10 line rental without having to pay the year up-front as I did last year, free BB and £1.50 off my Variety pack. I said no and cancelled the lot there and then and was given my MAC code over the phone.
Signed up with ee for BB and phone the next day.

A few days later sky phoned asking if I would mind answering some 'leaving customer-relations' survey questions. Q3 asked if I would have stayed if I had been offered a better deal. I said yes at which point the survey went out of the window and was offered £14pm for my TV pack.
I told the guy that if I had been offered that on the day I cancelled I would have agreed to stay. However, because I had already begun the migration of the phone and BB, they had lost my business, possibly for good.

There's no doubt deals are done every day like this Groupon one and this time next year I might consider going back. In the meantime, Freeview/Youview/Freesat/NowTV/Netflix will do me, just like sJ23 has said.

Good-ish deal if you're eligible.

is this for the first 12 months or just the first month?

I cancelled yesterday as was paying nearly £118 for everything, the best they offered was a saving of £18 unless I reduced my package. I just have Sky fibre now and if I can live with just broadband i'll be cancelling that also to go with someone else.

ive already got sky broadband but no sky tv. i Live Chatted sky to see if I qualify as a 'new customer'. She halfheartedly replied 'the groupon is for new customers' (so I assume thats a no for me) but also she said to ask Groupon customer service. I told her that the groupon fine print clearly tells people to go to Sky contact us for queries.

oh well.
gonna switch bband to BT for the free BT sport

Yep, then in 12 months, you can take out another policy as you've become a new customer again.

Rinse and repeat.

Will you still get the £100 recommended by a friend?

I used this last time it was on Amazon local. Great deal, can't fault it. And when the 12 months is up, I'll just cancel.

Aren't they going to say that there is a Sky account already at that address? Sorry, I'm keen to know as I would dearly love to reduce my Sky costs.

No.

Cancel your current account, set up the new account for the expiry date of your old one (even if it overlaps it doesn't matter)

I cancelled two days ago - got a call offering line rental, unlimited internet, evening and weekend calls plus using the Sky+ record facility wit the free to air channels only with no contract for just £15 a month. I told them to call back in a couple of days, but I think I will be crazy not to go for it.

Not bad price. I get the same for £42.77 at the minute.

I can't see what The Complete Bundle is?
Anyone know please. I want all channels including movies and sport. We also seem to have something called sport 5 at the moment. Might be extra football channels but not sure. Partner not here to ask at the moment.
I don't want any broadband with them though and worried this might be in the Complete Bundle.
Thank you.

Can I ask you something, have you ever called up and asked for a discount? I have, every year in fact and have never had to pay full price subscription. Usually between 30% and 50%, I dont need to threaten to leave I just ask if I can get any discound on my package.
