500 Days of Summer - 25 Aug + 1st Sept

Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love. Girl doesn't.
This post modern love story is never what we expect it to be -- it's thorny yet exhilarating, funny and sad, a twisted journey of highs and lows that doesn't quite go where we think it will. When Tom, a hapless greeting card copywriter and hopeless romantic, is blindsided after his girlfriend Summer dumps him, he shifts back and forth through various periods of their 500 days "together" to try to figure out where things went wrong. His reflections ultimately lead him to finally rediscover his true passions in life.

Excellent - got some for Belfast:thumbsup:

Went to see this Sunday and really didnt rate it.
Didnt hate it and wouldnt say dont go see it but def wouldnt watch it again.
Dont get me wrong, there are some funny bits in it, (her nickname when she was at school/college lol), but i just thought it'd be better than it was.
Still, were all different so others will enjoy it.

Not wanting to clog up the thread, but I thought Funny People was excellent up until the point where it turned into a slapstick romcom with Georges ex and Eric Banas character. Such a shame that an otherwise great film became an overblown waste.
It was about 45 minutes too long as well.

Back on thread - I saw 500 Days Of Summer on Sunday and it was pretty good. The soundtrack is brilliant.

Hooray! Got some for Greenwich next Tuesday.

Top bank hol weekend in London!! £9 Travelodge and trip to Thorpe Park courtesey of Mr T's Clubcard Deals then trip to the cinema.:w00t:

Thanks Op and HUKD.

It depends on the film. 9 times out of 10 they'll just have a look at the printout and the number of people it's for and let you in.

On occasion they'll take mobile phones off you and have the door protected by Eastern European bouncers.

Excellent, heat added. Got tickets for Gateshead

2 for bristol, thanks:thumbsup:

Yeah, Bristol at last, cheers

Any got 2 spare for Birmingham?

Thanks - got 2 for Oxford

Thanks - 2 picked up for Bristol

film tonight was mildly entertaining ... just two opinions of what love is and unfortunately like most couples, have different expectations of love. funny enough in parts but predictable. would have probably enjoyed this more if my stupid friend actually made it LOL. she was stuck at work late (so was the OH) so i was one-with-no-mates at a romantic comedy film! typical.

Just went for the movie tonite..

Its okay to watch for free.. wouldnt pay to watch this movie.

You might enjoy the movie if you go with a open mind and not too high expectations of the movie.

got a pair of tickets for marble arch on 01/09
thanks OP

Went to see this in Southampton last night but there were 'technical difficulties' with the film so we were offered free entry into any other film of our choice.

We chose to see The Orphan:-(

LBS/BD full on the first! Managed to see it yeasterday - nice 'n' refreshing. Well recommended!

I've got one for Oxford on 1st Sep if anyone wants it as I can no longer go. Send a PM if you do. Thanks.
