Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zooey Deschanel & Geoffrey Arend
Off-beat romantic comedy starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Brick, Mysterious Skin) and Zooey Deschanel (Failure to Launch).

"This is a story of boy meets girl", begins the wry, probing narrator of 500 Days Of Summer, and with that the film takes off at breakneck speed into a funny, true-to-life and unique dissection of the unruly and unpredictable year-and-a-half of one young man's no-holds-barred love affair.

Tom, the boy, still believes, even in this cynical modern world, in the notion of a transforming, cosmically destined, lightning-strikes-once kind of love. Summer, the girl, doesn't. Not at all. But that doesn't stop Tom from going after her, again and again, like a modern Don Quixote, with all his might and courage. Suddenly, Tom is in love not just with a lovely, witty, intelligent woman -- not that he minds any of that -- but with the very idea of Summer, the very idea of a love that still has the power to shock the heart and stop the world.

Great film. I would say this is still quite expensive for a dvd as new releases are available from Zavvi for £8 / £9 but I accept it is the cheapest on the market (I expect this to fall pretty rapidly soon) so I won't vote.

Fantastic movie and certainly the cheapest around but I expect it will be £2.99 in the summer sale, comedies really don't seem to hold their value long.

Still hot

Love this film and wanted to buy it last weekend to watch again but the only place in town selling it was HMV who were trying to charge £16.99 for it. I expect to pay more in a physical store but I can't believe people pay that sort of price considering it will be £4.99 within a month.

Good deal, now I just need the soundtrack to go on sale somewhere.

Down to £6.99 on amazon now too if people don't want to order from play for some reason.
