Fried chicken vendor Butchies is opening its first permanent restaurant in Shoreditch next week. And to celebrate, they’re giving away 500 free chicken sandwiches. We like this way of celebrating. Launching at noon on Monday 27 November,

Nice gesture HEAT

Saw the title and first thought was...'someone left the freezer door open!' (Been there, done that when I was a bakery manager). More near Shoreditch myself, but a good spot for anyone who is.

Shame that those who may actually need this food probably don't have access to the technology that would make them aware of it.

Hipsters form an orderly queue!

Hipster land

I'd rather pay than queue for hours, a ridiculous idea!

Is a beard required to avail of this offer?

Hot for the gesture, Cold for the location

Too bad my workplace isn't nearby. Heat anyways

No way could I manage 500 of these, so I'll pass

These burgers are incredible. Whoever gets these enjoy!

Anyone in the queue already outside?

They call it 'gentrification'.

Went to Shoreditch fairly recently, can't believe the amount of bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc. they got there now.

They doing the same thing with wok used to be run-down parts of soho, kings X,Islington etc..and the high prices that come with it now.

More like class cleansing than gentrification...

Hopefully the poor and homeless will be told about this deal and will be the only ones in the queue.

Had a bit of a reputation b4.

Not EVERYTHING is a good deal. I'm sure this is to promote the new fried chicken joint with locals, some of whom won't be hipsters or rich. Let them have the offer. I've got some leftover chicken in my fridge and a bread roll in my cupboard; I'm not going to put that in the bin and spend the price of a chicken burger on a train ticket to go and queue up in Shoreditch to deprive a schoolkid.
