Saw this at Tesco in Bury.

Seems good deal except in not sure if Tesco mobile is 4G as standard... We're still stuck in 2016

It shows on their website too, and definitely says 4G (on o2 network) and including European roaming this summer.

Some potential for Quidco/TopcashBack, though not on £11/m plans it seems.

Asda payg is offering 600 mins unlimited texts and 1.5gb for £10 per month, only 3G signal though, but good if you need more mins
It's only £12 a month for the same on GiffGaff but you won't be tied to a contract.

Better deal. Can't wait till my ID contract ends in September, don't get much signal.

Need an MVNO that piggy backs Voda/O2

True but if you need data, speeds on Giff Gaff are not great. Tesco gets more of the O2 bandwidth (shared with O2 PAYG customers). In my brief testing I was getting 2MB downloads on GG, 10MB on Tesco - same location, tested 5 minutes apart.

Giff Gaff is easier to self serve though, and the 30 day contract is useful.
Virgin has even better

30 days rolling contract
2GB
2500 minutes

Talkmobile which piggy backs Vodafone 30 day rolling for £10 gets you 1500 mins 5000 txts and 4gb or £15 with 15gb and 2500 mins 5000 txts 30 day rolling too.

And get a third class service because O2 and Tesco come first and second and NO Custom service so can't talk to no one...Tesco custom service is one of the best
GG signal is ok till you try and download something it then times out terrible Network.

Can you supply a link please. cheers
Giffgaff is poor 4g speed. I believe EE & THREE are the best.
agreed Giffgaff is very poor network speeds
Just dumped giffgaff from my sons phone to go to Tesco. Similar price but much better data speed on 4g. Also European roaming chucked in for free. Giffgaff unless abroad.

Also I had a giff gaff phone and 02 phone. I got good signal with 02 but bad one for giff gaff. I know gg uses 02 but something must be different.
Never had any problems with data speed on GiffGaff
Just got this on a retention deal for £10 per month. They're customer service is very friendly and better than O2.

Google is your friend and extremely easy to use.

Is it 4g?

Is it 4g?

Took me ages to read through all the crap but it looks like it's 3G only. How very old school. Good job I didn't jump on them then.
Its 4G as standard with Tesco. Been with them for years. Best CS great network very happy. I'm boosted with family perks clubcard points and a little loyalty bonus. :))
