£2.50, don't need the app, can book online, it's badly worded spelling mistake on the website.

I need return train ticket for the London Marathon in April next year.
It's showing £30.70 as the cheapest return fare - Anyone know if/when train prices are likely to rise, is it Jan 1st?

If you buy a ticket now for travel in April next year, you'll pay next year's price. It'll cost as much as it would if you bought the same ticket on the day of travel.

You should wait for Advance tickets to be released (normally available from around 12 weeks in advance), they can be a lot cheaper than normal walk-up tickets, as long as you don't mind having to use a specific train.

Where are you travelling from?
Do you have a railcard?

They don't appear to do Advance tickets from Didcot Parkway to Paddington. So if you really must travel from there, and have to have a flexible ticket, it looks like you'll be paying £30.70.

If you could travel from Oxford instead, when Advance tickets are released you should be able to find tickets from there to London for £5.50 each way. You obviously wouldn't have the flexibility, but it might be worth it for the saving.

Thanks for your help, but Oxford parking is a mare, would have to be Didcot - not only for the parking, but the quicker way home. Anything could happen in a marathon as well, so don't need the pressure of having to catch a certain train.
Really appreciate your time in explaining the various options, but think the £30.70 open return would be best value for me, weekend parking at didcot is cheap also.
Thanks again
Account specific ;-(

That’s a standard nectar offer. This promotion is not via the app it’s to encourage you to link your nectar card with Avanti & book a journey & is open to all

I don't need to see your nectar account to know that it's not account specific.

Go to the link in the deal and read the terms and conditions.
Can someone post the T&C for this? Nectar didn't give me the 500 points and I need proof the offer existed...
Nevermind, after an email to them I got the points right away. The problem was the chat.
My points were added to my Nectar account yesterday, I didn't have to contact them.
Maybe I was jumping the gun too soon then
They are usually quicker than this!
