B&O stuff looks amazing. I also like the Lowe tv's.

£500 rebate is hot - just get an old one from Bargain Pages and enjoy the discount

yeah they might not be cheap but they are definitely one of the best brands ever! Would love one of their tv's

cheers OP - heat added

good deal imo,......let the TV geeks decide for real though!

Great deal, would love one but this thread will almost certainly become filled with AV sorts doing nothing but decry the brand for being good to look at as well as good to watch/hear.

£500 would just about cover the cost of a B and O remote ( not including batteries of course)

And therein lies the problem. B&O and Loewe are better - but not ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££'s better.
they're doing this becuse of the rush for 3D sets.

am I missing the price tags, or should I therefore assume I can't afford one? lol!

You know, I've got B&O kit and I can't see the difference after 3 glasses of wine - it's a great deal if you spend most of your evenings sober and out to really appreciate the audio / visual fineness of B&O kit

Depends, do you have a spare £5,500 for a TV? Personally, I'm more of a Richer Sounds bargain bucket customer. On that note, where have all the c.42' LCD/plasma deals gone?

Wait. Do you pronounce BeoVision as : B-O Vision?

Because I could just happily get on the tube with my little portable dvd player if I wanted a dose of BO. :P

These TVs are very sleek, but damnnnnnnn they cost a lot!

Down the pan along with Pound I guess.

I don't know what's so good about this, but I'm going to take my old Bush telly into Homebase to see if they'll give me £500 - they generally try and match B&O's offers.

The people who know a thing or two about Plasma, LCD etc say....

WASTE of money.

Sure the picture is great, but you can spend half the amount and get a top end Panasonic (Plasma) or Sony LCD and the picture will be equally as good or slightly better. Well I know this was true a couple of years ago after speaking to a few people who installed Projector setups for people when I was researching the LCD i bought back then.

I'm sure B&O equipment is of wondrous quality but what makes me smile every time I pass the local B&O shop is that I have never ever seen a customer in there, just smart suited bored looking salesmen. How do they make any money?

Of course it will, because it's true!

If you're some arabian oil tycoon getting your london pad kitted out that you spend 2 days a year at....by all means looks great. If you want to spend £5,000 on a telly (nothing wrong with that in my eyes) then spend it on a top end normal brand.

You'll get WAY more for your money.

With astronomical markups!

Stylish,Overpriced and trendy.
Do they sill buy in Japanese technology?

b & o panels are made by Panasonic ..... make your own mind up

The guy in their Leeds shop told me their LCD panels are Samsung and PDP are LG. Give me a Panasonic any day.

You're buying style, a label, nothing more.

Allegedly, sometimes it may be more than just the panel => slashdot.org/com…022

They used to be Hitachi in custom cases. I am not up to date with them these days.
I'm not knocking it, but it is rather good just modern art, enveloping common or garden tech.
Regrettably, I can't afford any of their stuff.

£5500? holy crap, I could get a real home cinema installed for that!

well, kind of (_;)

Even if i was loaded i wouldn't buy one of these, stupidly over-priced. the only thing you pay for is the design. I'd rather go Pioneer myself, just as good picture and a fraction of the price although their TVs are very hard to come by these days as all their TVs are now end of line

B&O
All the gear, no idea...

I bet the majority of the people making negative comments in this thread have never seen B&O equipment before, in most cases the products are simply stunning.

sorry but stupid deal, if your buying one of these your not on HUKD looking for it. If you were looking to get this you go into the shop they would offer you this anyway.

The LCD's (BeoVision 6,7) panels are made by samsung the plasmas are made by panasonic, I work for a specialist pre-owned B&O dealership and can honestly say all there LCDs are not worth the cash! there audio equipment is top notch though but still stuppidly pricey! and only for those with expendable income.

the price premium is due to the scratch and sniff technology though

You are joking - 3D TV will be the biggest flop of all time - there is and will be no rush !

back when i went hunting for a crt (ended up with a Loewe in the end - in the days before kids), I went and tried out their BeoVision 4. It had the optional polerized screen. And it sat in the window, on a sunny day with the sun beaming right on it and there wasn't the tiniest bit of reflection. It was stunning. Havn't stepped foot in a dixons since :-)

if b&o is good enough for alan partridge...

wow you must have a really good sixth sense, being able to guess where EVERYONE else has been in their lives to have NEVER seen a B&O product.

p.s. I am one where you are wrong, because I work in a Panasonic Shop which is next to a B&O store - let me know if you would like picture proof oO

i think they used phillips tubes years ago,,,so they have at least upgraded the screen,,,will stick with my panny plasma me finks,,,

if i had this sort of cash to spend on a tv i would much rather get a Pioneer and still have 3k change.

lol B&O for mugs who like paying silly prices for a nice looking samsung tv

lol Loewe for mugs who like paying silly prices for a nice looking sony tv

in fact both makes could be using same panels

yes unfortunately they dont make many tv's now because planktons kept buying cheap lcd's because comet and dixons told them too (actually its because they made more on them)

i have a pioneer kuro 42in....still better than even the current crop of lcd, leds

if i had to buy a tv now it would prob be a panasonic
