This is not.

USB cable, power adaptor, quick start guide included.

decent price for a 500gb usb powered hd.

No i know mine is not USB powered, just offering a different one ??. The one at Currys in the deal is the 500gb version of the one i just took back. Mine was the 250gb and where the USB cable slots in was all loose and just gave up, only had it since 2nd week in Jan :-(
was suprised at WD, i swear by them normally, as its all i ever use when building a pc

You can buy the Iomega 500Gb portable USB powered drive from Comet for £59.98, but there is the discount code of 5HD to get 5% off, meaning it would cost you only £56.98 and still collect from your nearest store.

Wrong. The cheapest 1tb 2.5" portable I've seen is around the £130 mark.
(e.g. pcworld.co.uk/gbu…tml)

Still, the iomega 500gb one is bit cheaper at comet though with the voucher.

All the idiots who don't know the difference between a 2.5 and 3.5 inch drive are out voting cold as usual.

lol its a USB powered unit very good for Wii and this is a great deal as they are selling out fast in p.c. world

My bad, mistook for a 3.5". Thing is dont know why you would pay so much for a USB powered one unless portability is such a huge factor when you can get 3.5" power adaptor ones with more space for a little more. I know its for "portability" but why the hell is 250gb the standard now in HDDs or is this for them people with netbooks which are halfway between a laptop and smartphone??

The main reason behind USB powered ones is that when you shut down your Wii or lapppy the drive is turned off as well, Mains powered ones are still running all the time, unless it has its own built in system to shut itself down after none use. (which is a while)

And they keep the sockets free too
