Another bargain deal. Very cheap compared to the prices on amazon and ebay. The product is sold by seller with good feedback. Hopefully the product will be good as well.

Dumb question - is this used for charging a flat car battery?

Quite the opposite, it's a great way to discharge a battery very quickly! It takes 12v from the battery and steps it up to 240v.

Nope, this is used to convert 12V to 240V from your car battery.
I don't know that I'd trust a cheap, none branded power invertor, but if you fancy it, go for it! You pays your money and takes your chance!
personally wouldn't trust items like these from overseas, just even on safty issues

I'm going to take a wild guess but Im gonna bet that most of the electrical products in your house comes from overseas?

No it's used to change the 12volt DC power from a vehicle to 110v or 240v AC the same as your UK house 240v or American house 110v.
This is only going up to 500w though so don't expect to run hairdryers or kettles from this. Unless they are lower than 500w.
Do you think it would be big enough to charge a mobility scooter whilst driving?

It’s all about quality control boss.
At manshez269. Yes it could theoretically dependant on charger load. The thing to remember is that this thing will draw over 40 amps at full load so you'd need meaty cables to stop it turning into a bonfire! Id guess your charger will draw abt 200Watts which is abt 17 amps full load.

Should do.
This is being sold as suitable for the job and it is no where near the output of the one in the deal....
