A lot of waffle here but great deal for some

EE (unbeknown to me!) offer a 4G home broadband service. I can't get any ADSL internet where I live but have very strong 4G and have been living off the EE 100GB data sims which have now run out.

Perusing the internet earlier I came across the link in this deal which takes you to an otherwise very difficult to find 4G home broadband page.

Enough waffle, the deal.

£44 for 50GB of data on a 12 month contract

They are currently offering £10 off the cost of the 50GB line plus an extra 10% off for existing customers making it £30.11 a month for 12 months with a free CAT4 4G/LTE router

The Huawei routers they give you are over £100 alone + I think this is the cheapest deal around for 50GB double speed 4G without the router?

Absolute steal if, like me, you rely on mobile data to power your home.

Capped at 50GB to avoid charges, you can buy data add-ons later if required. Download speeds of upto 150Mbps

I called for 0800 956 6083 for the offer which is where I was told about the £10 off promotion currently running. No end date showing apparently.

Hope it helps!

it could be good for fairly light use, but connect a console (or PC) gamer to that and the 50gb will be gone in no time.
I also live in a rural area and our ADSL tops out at 4mbps and i can still get through 50gb in a week (especially when the new PS+ or XBLG games are made available), i can't imagine how fast that allowance would disappear if i had a decent speed!
Just grabbed this, I'm about to move to an area where the broadband speed is 1mb. I'll just have to monitor my usage carefully. I was told the router has a lan port, which I need, with 14 days to check it out I'm not worrying.

4G not good for home broadband.
It won't be fast enough even for quality Skype video calls, as EE uses traffic management.
I doubt you can reach over 3-4Mbps at peak times. Also Ping is over 300, not good for games at all.
50GB limit is very small....just for reading news and couple of videos to watch.

£30 is a lot of money to pay for 50GB

I'm just leaving 3 - I was on the original 'one plan' and they hiked the price on me - they offered me loads of offers but they told me that the highest tethering they offered was 12gb a month, if they were offering 30gb I'd stay put.

What speed for if you only get 50GB ???? Few movie downloads in HD and you up to the limit. To watch youtube or read news 1.5Mbps is more than enough .

I am on fiber 70mbps and using 390GB at least a month. My uTorrent is on 24/7 and 4 family members using internet..

If 16GB for £20 a month is hot at 300* then 50GB at £30 is also hot.

The fact some don't need it does not make it a bad deal, it's just not for them.

Not really sure what your internet usage has got to do with anything, nobody who can get 10Mb+ home broadband (let alone fibre) would ever want a deal like this as the data limit is way too low.

But if the only options to you is speeds that were considered low 10 years ago then this is a great deal. 1.5Mb is no way near anything for most uses, it is low for mobile usage let alone home bb. Obviously it means that torrents and large downloads (games/isos etc) are out the question but its better than the alternative.

Sorry I didn't reply to you 1st but I read the thread upwards!

Deany i'd be interested in getting in touch with EE to see if they can better by rolling monthly contact with them. 25gb for £15 p/m i'm currently getting but 25gb isnt cutting it. I'm an EE customer already for my mobile, am I eligable to get any further discounts on the package in this thread? The 50gb for £25 sounds good to me!
The TalkTalk HG532 has a usb port for a 3G Huawei usb modem, if 4G coverage is non existent save a few bob with this and a EE data sim deals which regular pop up, £15 for 25GB was a recent deal.

    Hi Callam I'm on:
    100 GB over 24 months £49.50
    3 months free
    so total £1,039.50
    £43.31 or 00.43p GB
    ..............
    But you want 50GB- I was on 50GB till recently - £27.50 on a 12 month contract (£30.00 with 1st month free).

My neighbour rang EE on my advise (we cant get broadband here) for the recent 25GB for £15.00 one month rolling.
EE were keen to sell them on a 50GB for £25.00 a month for 12 months.
As they don't need 50GB (yet) so they just settled for the 25GB.
The numbers I gave them to ring were:
    0800 956 6000
    0800 956 6083
I find EE to be great, HOWEVER it very much depends on who you speak to!
For instance you could ring up and whoever answers might say "we dont even do 100GB"
Then hang up and the EE cs may say yes but its £50
Then hang up and someone else will say £45.00 and a months free.
Its really quite odd, but do request a confirmation e-mail once you are happy with the deal.
    I have spoken to:
    South Wales
    Tyneside
    Scotland
    India
I find the Tyneside & Scottish to offer the bet deals! again quite strange.
I would politely end the call if you get through to India, with respect to India.
Hope this helps, don't budge until its £25.00 x 12 and get e-mail confirming.
You are in a strong position because you may consider leaving EE if the deal isn't £25.00 (wink)
Do let me know how it goes.
    Good luck.
    Cheers

So things went pretty well with my call to EE using the first number you provided deany. My existing plan of 25gb for £15 has been upgraded to 64gb double speed data for £23 and thats still on a rolling monthly contract.
I'm paying £45 p/m for my existing phone contract with them, so they're still coining it from me, but can't complain with the data deal.
    Thanks again

I'm made up for you Callum & slightly jealous!
64GB I never knew they offered that amount, must be new.
Thats approx 00.36p a GB on rolling, thats outstanding.
    Did you get e-mail comfirmation?
Would love to know what they would have quoted for 100GB as I thought my 00.43p a GB was good.
If they could do 100GB for £36.00?
Do you think its the BT take over and maybe the Christmas & summer sim offers almost 'devaluing' the data prices.
Your £45 p/m existing must have been 'factored' in to the new data offer. Not sure how their system works.
I have a works iPhone 6 unlimited with 20GB which comes in handy as a backup tethering etc, thats £46.00 inc. We spend over £130 a month (nothing to some) but they quoted an eye watering £105 a month for a new 100GB SIMO, I kid you not!
    But 36p a GB, I'm in shock!

These prices will start to make folk look at cancelling their landline (assuming they have double speed or EE+ in their area).

The 64gb came about from him doubling the allowance of their existing 32gb data plans (I didnt know these existed either). And yes it's now all been confirmed via email
I used the example of the 30gb for £10 I heard about and whilst that wasnt available this was the best he could come up with for me. He had initially tried to sign me up to the main deal of this thread, though I already have a Huawei Mifi and didn't want to sign up to 12m. You may be right about the 100gb deals devaluing the data, but they where a stonking deal!
Landline wasn't really an option for me living in Hull, we cant get BT lines here so stuck to KC broadband. They're awful to deal with and their closest package to this is 100gb data for £36 p/m, it's only 5mps too :-/

Great that you got that the confirmation e-mail & really good negotiation by you there, nice one.
We can't get broadband at all here in rural North Wales so rely totally on EE.
We are so lucky to have a mast that changed to double speed last autumn.
So it went from 6mb DL to 56mb DL which is, amazing. Overall very happy & feel very fortunate considering.
I think all this is a great advert for EE & BT, that crazy 5p a GB (100GB) deal is starting to make sense, as its attracting more custom which in turn is bringing data prices down possible there is some devaluing going on there at 5p a GB
Also these prices are far less than the Americans pay (they have some crazy prices if you go over allowance), USA is sometimes a good indication of fair and unfair prices- it makes a change to be less expensive!.
    Cheers

I was paying £27.50 (18 months ago) but that was locked in for 12 months
A lot depends on whether you are already an EE customer, £25 has been quoted, also see post #32 for an amazing deal.
If you are new to EE it looks like £30.00 is your minimum for a rolling 1 month.
They may discount if you sign for 12 months.

Deeny, I'm kinda talking about the main 4g BB deal.

I'm a current EE customer out of contract on sim only (10gb for £17 with 40% friends and family, which will drop to 30% if I change anything on the line).

So I currently have a PAC code, waiting for a call to make me change my mind, but I'm going to try and push for more data on 30day contract AND the 4g deal for nearer £25 than the current £30.13.

Just wondered if I have a chance!
