Saw a deal on here for 25GB free storage on Box and was wondering why it was so low. Here is a link for 50GB free cloud storage. It's sponsored by Dell but there seems to be no restriction.

Enjoy the freeness while you can!

I'm sure this is also one of the few to support WebDAV access too. Great for iWork on iPad

But still hot, if you are new

Is this the same as drop box then?

Pretty much, a few less features and limited to 250MB file sizes but an amazing deal for 50GB. Their service can only improve and as it's for life you can't go wrong.

Think of Box as Dropbox's ugly little brother - who is gonna grow up to get all the girls!

Not used anytthing like this before - I am assuming you can transfer and store items on your PC to the 'box' for safekeeping? Might have a go later - pesty PC playing up loads lately (internet connection problems) so it may go out window one day soon Is this kind of service easy to use, guys?

Transferring is as easy as attaching files to emails, using/organising within is similar to using windows explorer, you can manage file/folders, you can share a particular folder/file/photo with anyone you like to see. This is the future with cloud, you can access it anywhere, don't need to carry memory stick with you. I think 50gb is large enough for ave householder, and don't forget each family member can create one each.

Having said that I would keep very important files backed up on memory stick.

I have joined thanks OP
I first joined Box when I bought my HP Touchpad (when they used to be box.net), as they had partnered to give 50GB for TP owners. I must say it's become my favourite cloud storage solution, its web interface is more elegant than Dropbox, it's simpler to use (and share files) than Skydrive, and their Box Sync utility is superlative, particularly on Mac.

you can get round 250MB limit by using winrar to make an archive splitting file size
Any Box gurus here? I reinstalled windows, then Box Sync, changed the location of "My Box FIles" to the folder I was using before but all it does is create a new folder within the folder "my Box Files" called "My Box FIles" and downloads everything again!
Gonna give this a go already got Dropbox and google drive plus iCloud so the more the better.
Got one 50gb account for docs/work and now this one for all my Retro roms. Huzzah!
Great..already registered

incredibly slow auto sync

20 times slower than dropbox or skydrive

its a known bug
Thanks..
Good free storage, but not as functional as DropBox, by a long way.
Gutted I've already gone through all my email addresses trying to get the 50gb accounts in the past now I'm stuck with a 5gb account didn't realise box had desktop sync too may be worth making another address for this.
Are there any tricks about to get more drop box space at the main i only have about 6gb at the main with them sand its my most used heat added BTW.

Why not just register a 50gb Box account with another free email address, then delete an existing Box account and change the email address of the 50gb one to the email you want to use
I haven't used box for months, but just checked my account and I think I've been auto upgraded to 50gig anyway.
If have a few "email accounts" from other users and set them up as Contacts and Collaborators, you can share the files amongst each account.

i.e. two other users and you have a told of 150GB space between you all, obviously only a max of 50GB per account

£5 for 500GB at Curecloud.co.uk

- but who are these guys? Never heard of them....

Signed up for this but I find it rather concerning that under contacts and collaborators I have thousands and thousands of outlook.com email addresses.

Why on earth have they made this information available?

Does this mean if I set up two accounts allowing Editor collaboration of each other, I get 100GB free space?
