The trend I've noticed is that the funds either go towards branded fashion, or branded goods. Both unnecessary.

...and these are very much in the minority, because they're either fiddling by working on the side, or supplementing their income through other, usually illegal means. I live on the edge of a council estate and while I have a decent job and enjoy a comfortable standard of living, I'm surrounded by people on all sides that struggle to make ends meet with benefits.

Yes, some of them are career layabouts that think the World owes them a living, but others have just fallen on hard times and want to work, but can't find jobs. They get sanctioned for the slightest things and are then left to beg from food banks or turn to family & friends just to feed their kids. I'm tired of hearing all this inflammatory crap bandied about by the media and the biased ill-informed. The reality of life having to rely on state handouts is far removed from the sensationalist rubbish you see on the likes of "Benefits Street",

Save your ire for the more deserving, like the MP's flipping their homes, expenses for everything and fat cat jobs as Directors etc in the companies they take bungs off, waiting for them after a short non-career in Politics. Or the bankers. Or the multi-national corporations that have 10th dan black belts in tax dodging.

For £200 it's a brilliant 50" TV, the saying 'you get what you pay for' isn't all negative. Chin up though Pavel, there was no need for you to be a daily fail anti benefit sponsor. I mean, some people are sick and can only afford something like this but you for some reason, had to insult people. wtg man.

    What a snob.

Go spend your money on full price Samsung's at Tesco and get away from HUKD. You're like vermin.

Heat added . I note the uniquely British obsession with linking the size of ones television to ones social standing - the ignorance that unemployed means you are filthy rich , filling your walls with budget TVs . No television screen made could be any larger than the size of your noses sticking in other people's business. Worlds gone to the dogs when people smugly assume having a better branded tv and looking down on people struggling makes you a superior being . Sad .

  9. dgsouliotis's avatar
For those complaining about cheap tvs only lasting 12-18 months I've had my Celcus for about 3 and a half years (running it very regularly too...) and it's fine. Knowing my luck it might go out tho so might grab this xD

Well said! I see some of the abject poverty some people live in. But of course, if you are thick and read the daily mail you will believe all those that are out of work are able to buy the best of everything and use food banks as a lifestyle choice. Bit pathetic demonising the poorest.

Can't wait to see the fights over this. Brand snobs won't go for it, but these sets are fine for the dosh. I am still using a Blaupunkt 50 from tesco online last black Friday, and it is still going strong. The box was kicked in by city link as well.

I work 7 days a week most weeks. My wife works part time. I have 2 young children. I cannot afford the latest samsung that tbh most normal people won't use to it's potential or notice a difference to any other tv. I currently using an aldi 40" set that has been gojng strong for over 2 years. This is a great deal. Only brand snobs who probably don't have a family to provide for would disagree. Pathetic.

Yes, because this deal starts when the majority are working in the UK.
That's why Black Friday is BS in this country, it's a holiday for most people in the USA,they get the day to shop as it follows thanks giving.

Well said - I'm no supporter of those that set out to milk the benefits systems, however I am of the opinion that a lot of the press that plays up benefit fraud is simply trying to divert attention away from the real villains - these being the Bankers that absolutely screwed up the entire country while continuing to line there own pockets! I doubt that a dedicated army of Benefit Scroungers doing their worst for a year could do 1% of the damage to the country which the Bankers have done? - Anyway (gets off his high horse) a 50 inch telly for this price is a cracking deal IMHO.

ummm I'm confused I came to look for a bargain and all I see is deep dark cruelty about people on benefits lets get 1 thing straight my partner was in the army and long distance lorry that was until him and my 5year old were hit by a women in b.m.w it was a fatal accident he spent many months in all different hospitals and my son I had no choice to get help off benefits as it was a struggle at the time with traveling 2c both then to rush home for my other children how do u know if any off these people once worked then bought all their goods but got laid off just saying don't label all the same brush......

Exactly, there is charity coffee shop near me( pay what you want with funds going towards serving food for homeless, vulnerable people - like thay saying). There is also convenience store beside... and I see those people going for free food every evening and than grabbing few cans of strong lager at store - ease, trouble free life !
PS. I have to wake up every morning before 6 o'clock, go to work if I want to have my bills paid and have some food in the fridge... sad

If you've got all the money in the world to buy curved Samsung ***** you've been told his the connoisseur's choice, why are you on a site dedicated to finding bargains? Your bed of 50s need a little fluffing?

    *Obviously not ****

Good deal .why don't retailers simply ask the people who have queued up what black friday item they want and give them a voucher to collect it from the store anytime throughout the day .keep the goods in store room .once they have gone they have gone at least they go in a fair order to stop scum like last year.

I used to work at sainsburys in the GM section, a colleague bought this for £190 with discounts, he must have returned the product and got 3 different replacements until he gave up. Problems with sound and HDMI ports etc. I wouldn't purchase this TV as it's usually faulty and wasted in the branch I worked at.

I was gonna jump in, then I thought what's the point? Some people believe everything they read!!! I don't really care if the work shy lay about is gonna que up to get a budget tv payed for with my taxes but I would be really happy for the parent or parents that work 2 jobs and still has to rely on working tax credits to enjoy this deal and no I'm not on benefits.
If you really open your brain it's not like you can buy any other type of tv now is it? Or can anybody tell me were I can buy a Crt TV?

Anyway great deal for the money and hope some people get to enjoy it
  34. pavel76's avatar

Yeah I bet you're on TAX CREDITS aren't you = LOL

I'm waking up every morning morning, going to work to pay my bills etc, never any benefits or tax credits... I'm simply sick of people who never had dirty hands because of hard job they doing but keep a can of strong lager every with big smile on the face !... with all respect to hard working class - I didn't want to insult anybody with my previous comment, thats all.
