Wife was concerned about hygiene with our bog-standard plastic kitchen bin so researched automatic sensor bins and found this bargain.

Stainless steel, very smart looking and 50L so plenty of capacity. Sensor works really well - just wave your hand in front of it, lid opens and then closes automatically after 6 seconds. You can also open it with a button, and it will then stay open until you press close again, so useful if you like to peal your spuds directly over the bin like me!

Comes with batteries, delivery is free and it came in two days! Similar bins without sensors were double the price of this.

Only my second ever post so don't tell me this is rubbish. Arf arf!

My dog would love this, he seems to figure out how to open every bin we buy and this wouldn't be a challenge.

Yet it's the bin you decided to change?

Only kidding, I'm sure that it's both a very nice bin and a very nice wife. It must have been a tough choice.

Right seriously, this is a great deal. You don't often see 50L Brabantia ones this cheap, even in sales, and do they even have automatic lids... no they do not.

Not getting one, but voting hot. Because it is.

How long do the batteries last?

Does it empty itself as well?

No idea about batteries as only got it yesterday. I can't imagine it would use much power. It takes the largest "C" size ones.

Hasn't emptied itself yet, no. I'll keep you posted.
(_;) thankyou

I bought one of these the last time they were on offer.... sent it back after two weeks and went back to my brabanti.... not but hassle.... when the batteries are fresh it's ok but after a week the duracel in it weren't drained but it took ages to open, it also kept getting jammed and the sensor is tempramental too. AVOID

Also if your wife is concerned with hygeine then get a foot pedal one, we have the OXO branded one from dunelm in our conservatory and it's great
