50m 13A 4-socket Mains Extension reel, £35.98 delivered @ toolstation.com

I was looking for an extension reel of a useful length for doing some gardening. This seems to be about the best value for such a long lead at 72p/m, especially when toolstation deliver for free if purchasing over £10 worth.
What's more, it is a 13A rated cable, many are 10A, but with this one you can boil a kettle on the end, if you so desired, and on that note, it has a thermal cut-out to prevent damage from overloading.
I hope its useful to someone.

If anyone is considering voting cold, please tell me where I can find a 50m 13A extension cable delivered for less? I'll happily save myself a few quid too.

Better/cheaper off daisy chaining two of these … Better/cheaper off daisy chaining two of these ;)http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/pro-elec-25m-4-gang-extension-reel-15-00-delivered-cpc-2286051

I saw that, not much cheaper, and dasy-chaining extension leads isn't a great idea if you need the distance. A great deal for shorter lengths though.
Must get a bit of volt drop on the these.

That depends on the diameter of the conductor in the cable and the current drawn.
I'm still unable to find a better deal on a 50m 13A length, which makes me wonder why it has gone so cold.
I wonder if I get a badge if it reaches -100

Well max current will be 13 amps and conductor size will be only 1.5mm , but let's be honest after you have plugged into a circuit and reeled out it will start to suffer volt drop even if not a lot of current is being pulled.

It's directly proportional to the length, so twice the drop of one half the length. However, the Volt drop is also proportional to the current drawn and since most loads likely to be used are inductive (motors), the voltage leads the current by a significant phase angle meaning the current drawn will peak when the volts are at a lower point in the cycle and the voltage will peak when the current is at a lower point in the cycle, so the volt drop at maximum voltage will be significantly less than for a purely resistive load (kettles). Also I'm suspecting the people who made it know what they are doing.
Well at full load and length of the extension lead you're gonna get around 20 volts, volt drop that's not including what's going on with the circuit supplying the lead so it could start to have issues. I do agree with what load it is (inductive/resistive) and like you said above about them generally being 10 amp would make more sense.
As for daisy chaining extension lead not something that i would advise seen to many people thinking they can plug far too much in.

I agree. I still think its a good deal. I'm somewhat surprised that it went so cold, especially when no-one could find a better deal that didnt involve daisy chaining. Well it's on the record if anyone needs one.
