Active HDR brings out the best

Movies, shows and games look great on the LG 50UM7600PLB 50" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV with Google Assistant. Active HDR works behind the scenes to always give you great contrast and detailed images. True colour accuracy brings different shades and hues to life, so your favourites look more realistic than ever before.

And thanks to 4K Ultra HD upscaling, even the classics look like they were filmed yesterday.

Immersive audio too

The LG UM7600 isn't just a pretty face, it talks the talk too. DTS Virtual:X may sound like a scary cyborg, but it's actually a brilliant feature that takes surround sound to the next level and immerses you in realistic audio. You'll love it when you're watching thrilling movies and stadium sports.

All the top content

Netflix, BBC iPlayer, YouTube – they're all here on the UM7600. Stream a hit US show, catch up with a homegrown soap, then skip through some videos all on one big screen. You can even cycle back through the week's telly for anything you missed with Freeview Play.

Magical remote control

Even controlling the UM7600 is exciting. Using the Magic Remote you can change channels with gestures and points, or just use your voice thanks to ThinQ. It doesn't stop there, with Google Assistant you can even ask your TV for useful info, like they day's weather or what's on your calendar today.

Oh yeah so it did, couldn't see it earlier!
This range has a problem with Freesat HD channels, the BBCs & ITV, it's across the whole UM range

What’s the problem?

The HD channels are fuzzy, unwatchable. I assume it's not more widely reported as people aren't using Freesat. I have the problem and from searching loads of others are reporting it. Coming from Freesat boxes that worked and now can't get most HD channels on the UM range of TVs. LG aren't assuming responsibility for the problem either if others reports are to go by

What’s this model like? I’m looking at the 75” version of this..... be good to hear your thoughts on the performance of it? Do you play consoles through it (Xbox)?

Got the um7400 in the bedroom so it’s not the main TV. Wanted this panel for wide viewing angle. I mainly watch prime / Netflix and have no complaints. Interface is nice and fast. I do t game on it so can’t comment on input lag etc. Sorry probably not much help!

Cheers for the response though!
I’ve been going round in circles, was about to push the button on the Samsung 75” Q85R but then at £2,500 and new models due shortly I just couldn’t do it! Hence looking at something a bit cheaper now but I do need something half decent for Xbox One X

I think I’ve seen your posts on some other TV threads. Are you the person with a short list of a few none of which are OLEDs? I’m in a similiar boat, want something big for the lounge. Don’t trust the kids to turn it off plus want something low reflective. Don’t really want to go OLED but don’t really want to spend thousands on QLED etc I’ve actually been looking for over a year now (since last Xmas lol) and will either wait, or will get something like this deal as a stop gap until tech either improves or micro led comes out etc.

Yea that’s right, other TV threads. My OLED is dead hence me looking, when repaired it will be sold as don’t trust them. MicroLED will be the way to go but at least another yet until available at a reasonable price.

QLED is too expensive I think, plus no Dolby vision, no HDMI 2.1 even in expensive sets like the Q85R which just seems mad. It’s a cracking TV don’t get me wrong, but £2,500 for something that will be dated in the coming few months, can’t justify it.

LG do a good Nanocell SM8610PLA which from what I’ve read offers great strong colours, no burn in risk obviously as still LED, HDMI 2.1, HDR10 and Dolby Vision, which I almost bought but then Richersounds recommended the Q70R instead lol....... so that’s where I’m at!

I’m thinking Nanocell again now, OR, just opt for a cheaper 75” to make do for a year..... but it is the main tv so needs to handle films and Xbox

Why did richer recommend the q70 over the nanocell?

Why did richer recommend the q70 over the nanocell?

Yes they did. But then it’s £300 more and you still don’t get the bits mentioned above so it’s a tricky one. Also for the same £2,000 (75” still) it then opens up the LG Nanocell 9000 series (priced matched at £2,000) which is rated higher than the Samsung so where do draw the line?

That’s how in the other thread I ended up with 3 models

Been watching a few reviews of the LG 9000, the digital trends one has put me off a bit.

No lol. Was so close to jumping on the Q80 deal with student discount straight from Samsung but the 1 year warranty put me off and I think I might wait to see what they do over the next month with the newer models. I’ve been putting it off for a year so far so I can wait another month. I don’t mind spending more money if I get something considerably better.

I’ve been going round in circles as well mate but today I made a purchase.
Richersounds - Samsung UE75RU7100 for £899

Got them to pricematch, they told me they were selling at a loss and didn’t know how the other company could offer that cheap.
I know it’s not the best TV but it is 75” and actually not that bad. I also know I’ll change it 6-12 months so prob get most my money back. Had I have bought the Q85R I reckon after the CES show and 6 months it would lose at least a grand! So to me, it’s the right choice.

Yes that's right. Dont forget it has to be like for like.... so add on Crampton 5yr warranty = £99
Total £799 + £99 = £898

Of course you get 6yrs warranty with Richersounds. The guy couldnt believe how cheap it was and said even at that price they were selling below cost but would rather have the customer/business.

Mine arrived today, all set up - it’s awesome! Viewing angles great, colour great, Xbox and films sharp, really can’t knock it at all for a 75”
