Cheapest 9600GT I could find - not much of a performance hit from an 8800GT - best bang for buck I've seen lately...

Not bad, £20 more gets you an 8800GT and another £20 gets you an ATI 4850, tough choice.

Well, if you want an 8800GT, the Palit 9800GT (same difference, I beleive - correct me if I'm wrong) is £16 more on the same page (£78.72). Probably also another hot deal... I haven't really seen it cheaper. Anyone else?

Edit: the 9800GT is £16 more than the 9600GT on the same Today Only page. I'm saying that you get an 8800GT/9800GT for £78.72.

I think this is a great deal but with the amd 4850 and 4870 for just a little more i dunno.

4870 is a lot more. At least £100 more infact.

Good deal for the 9600GT.

The 9800GT is just an 8800GT btw so unless it comes with a better cooler (as they're also usually the same clocks) then it's not worth an extra £16 over an 8800GT.

Please read the post properly,

He said the 9800GT is £16 more than the 9600GT. Which makes it cheaper than the 8800GT.

Cheapest 4850 is around £108 - £45 may be a "little more" for some, but not me.

You need to be on the today only page

if I already have hexus and scan accounts, how do I link them?

Thanks for the info, but I am wondering if it is a "free shipping for life" deal or just a one off deal?
Cheers

Free shipping for "life". I thought I had read on a hexus forum that "life" actually meant til 2015 or 2020... Either way, as anyone with the "AVForums free Scan delivery for life" can attest to - life is short! It could be pulled at any time, so the key is not to abuse it.

The G94 cores that the 9600GT is based on may not be that great. I know its "the inquirer" but still give the article a read theinquirer.net/gb/…dly

Might save you some time with sending back dodgy cards.

Would say yes, if the memory was a GDDR4 like a real 3870, but this card is a hybrid i.e. core clock of a 3870 but memory of a 3850. So its debatable.
The Force3d card should perform like a overclocked 3850.

I have a 9600GT and it's a very decent card. It would definitely be worth it to spend the little extra for a better card, but if you want to play games on the PC but don't really care about running Crysis on maximum settings, the 9600 can cope very well indeed.

Many benchmarks have the 9600GT outperforming the 3870. The 3870 has more raw power and performs better in 3DMark06 as a result; but in real world performance, the 9600GT can do everything the 3870 can (in games) plus a little extra in some.

How do you get this into your cart at the discount price then?

I'd love to know where your getting these benchmarks from. Even the 4850 is faster than the 9600gt.
