I actually really wanted every TV maker to include Roku or Firetv stick instead of their own proprietary samrt TV crap and sell basic TV. Or better yet sell TV with plenty of hdmi port and let us decide which smart TV device we want.

Linsar is a British company that rebadges TV's made by Vestel in Turkey, who also make Toshiba, Hitachi, low end Panasonic, Finlux, Techwood and other brand names you've heard of. Linsar would set a specification and Vestel make the TV... the fact is they're probably very similar, if not identical to the other brands mentioned. This is a very low price for a 55" TV... quite remarkable really.

I would imagine it's OK but remember it's the bottom end of the TV market but I imagine would be fine for most people.

5 year warranty if registered with Linsar... that's pretty good.

Regarding the Sky remote, is this definitely the case and are there generic manufacturer’s codes that may make a Sky Q remote compatible?

Picture wise, any ghosting or screen having light bleed and how are are Linsar as a company for support etc.?

Thanks in advance...

Getting close to the biting point, especially going up from a 40” HD technika TV I’ve had for 5 years now...

Picture 5 out of 5 in my opinion. No ghosting & great on sky HD & fire stick.
UHD very good too.
Its my main TV & I came from lg's.
Have not needed linsar support so don't know but they were great when I registered it.
I'm sure other vestel codes would work but I don't know which.
If you are tempted and need TV then this is it
I got the 50 inch for 199 delivered. It's all mounted in the kitchen so not overly bothered about how it compares to main tv.
Overall I'm very happy. Picture is very good. Menu is great. The delay on the remote input to the tv actually doing was asked can be noticeable over my expensive samsung, mainly when tv first switched on, but that's about it.
I'd have preferred more pre sets in the sound EQ menu but I'm being picky.

That's an odd comment on the TV in question isn't it?
Did you misread it as "which telly deal you prefer?"

I've been on the phone to sky, Linsar and Roku and the TV is 100% not supported. I went through all the master codes they had on file and no dice. You will have to use all 3 remotes so bare that in mind.

Out of the box, the picture is heavy in the red shade but you can adjust the picture settings till you are happy. Took me a few days of tweaking till I found one that works with most inputs. The speakers are very bad so you will 100% want a decent soundbar if you plan you use as your main TV.

I haven't had any issues with light bleeding or ghosting but it's just been a few weeks so no idea on longevity. Got JL to price-match so I'm not worried about any long term issues. For the price this is a pretty decent buy.
I've had this TV for several months and at this price it's an absolute bargain. However it's not without its flaws.

Cons: The yellow shades have a greenish tint on my TV.
To use the TV guide you need to have an ethernet cable plugged in.

Pros: Great 4k picture for the price. Roku stick lets you use YouTube Netflix etc in 4k.
TV is HDR compatible.

Make sure you turn HDMI to advanced mode to get 60hz.

Generally a competent device with a multicore CPU combined with Android or Web OS is the best choice as they have the widest support. Propitiatory dongles hanging out of everywhere needing to be replaced every few years and a pot full of remote controls isn't a great solution, and nor is it good for the planet.

I rang them... they said it was from the date of purchase....
My date of purchase is 12.03.2019. I can't take 2019. Is just 2018. And model isn't correct. Showing just 65uhd500 but I have 65uhd520.
Linsar used to be a fantastic British company with exceptional back up on sets made by vestel to a decent specification. Now owned by an Australian company with poor back up if things go wrong. Real shame how a once decent name has gone.
A lot of TV for the money. Very tempted to upgrade from a 40" Digihome (Vestel) 1080p as main living room TV.

Hmm. Its not the proper youtube like the Roku Stick or what you'd find on your phone. Has really bad layout, and riddled with adds

What are the viewing angles like on this?

I'm after a reasonably priced 55" to integrate into a gaming table, so needs to have good viewing angles from all sides. Hoping this is the answer.

Just "fix" it via a DIY upgrade and it works fine, no ads and all the apps follow suit
