What are cigarette prices like in Portugal?

Most places see to close in early december... still a good deal...

Question
Hi Got a great deal on a break early december. Can you tell me the weather at that time please? Also do many places close for the winter? (Restaurants, bars etc) Many thanks! Dan

Answer
The average weather conditions for Faro:
Weatheronline reports:

The average daily maximum temperature for Albufeira is between 15°C and 18°C. At night it cools down to temperatures between 8°C and 13°C. On average there are 3 days with precipitation. The daily sunshine duration is about 5 hours. On average there is a gentle breeze of 3 Bft (Beaufort Force). This analysis is based on data from the past 10 years.

Have a look at this site:

albufeirawebsite.com

It can be a bit parky but if you get a warm day it can be nice.

Many places do close in early December but open again for Xmas.

anyone got a non 0870 number for travel junky?

Credit card bookings carry a 2.5% fee, debit cards are 1.5%

I have been to this hotel, it was very nice, right on the beach and also right in the middle of the old town.

Excellent find....(_;)

Got to be HOT

Question is, how much spending money is needed, how much will transfers be, how much is parking at Stanstead?

Also im off to Tenerife on the 21st of December so would this just be sheer greedy of me?

Looks good. Heat added

Hi

I have recently booked a short trip to Portugal through Travel Junky and have experienced the same kind of communication problems encountered by many others i.e. can't get through by phone for days on end, not responding to their "call back" service, long delays in answering e-mails etc. They have now changed my accomodation at the last minute to something less desirable without so much as an apology!

What I find really interesting though is the truely wonderful review posted on this forum on 11/08/2010 by benjonesy. Strangely enough the current CEO of Travel Junky is a Mr. Benjamin Jones!

Coincidence???? I think not

Hey, you only live once bro! and hop on the stansted express, its less hassle than parking and maybe even cheaper too when you take into account the petrol and parking costs. But i am really interested in the transfer from the airport as I believe Portugal does not have many airports what so ever

Ah...Ive heard of this scam and it actually happened to my sister in July but I think she booked through Easyjet. Im gonna stay clear then as I dont wanna be moved, the massive selling point is the hotel and I dont wanna get all excited and then find out its been changed! oh well, more to spend on Christmas presents then

I went to Albufiera about 15th December last year. The weather was changeable. Nice when the sun was out but needed to wrap up when it wasn't. Had 2 nights in Albufiera and 1 in Faro. We preferred the night in Faro as there were more authentic Portuguese restaurants open and the town is genuine too and nicely decorated for Christmas (including red 'carpet' throughout the pedestrianised shooping area). Lagos looked like a better bet than Albufiera. I checked trip advisor before going and all of the restaurants I chose from there in Albufiera were either closed or empty. In contrast the one in Faro was packed.

good deal!

I have just phoned up, you cant fly from Manchester and it you want to fly from liverpool its an extra £20pp. Transfers are an extra £20pp if you want them. It includes all taxes etc. They are also flexible on the dates by a few days either side.

Voted hot.... now if only they'd answer their phone so I can ask them some questions about it!!

****. T'other half has no holiday entitlement left! Oh well.

Better check the flight times as odd hours eg Fly out at 9am which is ok but when returning you will have to set off at 4am back to the airport so it cuts your days up, plus the administration side of Traveljunky is bad, really bad, you have to confirm everything with them and 9 times out of 10 they will send you wrong dates/hotels which you then have to get corrected, a nightmare in itself. I just think they have taken on more then they can chew, so wouldnt go far as saying its a scam but be prepared for screw ups, I am talking from experience. long waits over the phone but generally the people are helpful but I would avoid just because of the headaches involved and potential for things to go wrong.

resort hoppa offer cheap transfers

Would anyone be able to advise me as to whether or not the bars and clubs will be open in December? I am planning a trip to Albufeira on the 20th of December. Many thanks

Undoubtedly a ridiculous question but I assume this is per person?

callum1990

It is £20pp included for both ways

And yes this is in portugal

Been waiting on phone for 28 minutes.

Be my luck to get stranded over there if the company goes bust.

Booked it from Edinburgh, but hotel has changed and price is £89.

Albufeira has mild temperatures, that are not too extreme. In summer, you can enjoy 95% sunny days in which the mid temperature during the day gets up to about 25 or 26 degrees celsius, and about 17 or 18 at night. In winter, the sun also shines most of the time until you reach November and December, which are the rainy months here.

What Hotel has it changed to? Im still intrigued by this offer

Been staying in our villa outside of Albufeira for 20 years now and I know this hotel well. Not bad but don't expect guaranteed sun or lots of nightlife at this time of year. Its about 20 c at the moment and the bars/restaurants are slowly closing for the winter.

My G/F booked this today for 11th december from stansted £20 each for transfers

Im booked on a holiday to Portugal in just over a week. Its the same area im going to as whats in this deal, Albufeira.

This is the deal i got if anyones interested. 6 nights from Stansted, 6 nights in a 4* apartment with breakfast included as well as transfers to and from the airport. Grand total £112.22 per person including all booking/CC charges. Or £142.22 if you want to to book your hand luggage. Bought from well known agents aswell.

This thread is useful for people experiences of the place. The weather should be better in beginning of November then December i hope.

Just back from Albufeira and it is not unusual to pay 5 euros for a night in self catering. Just turn up at some places as it`s near end of season and not much happening. Great weather last two weeks. 21-24 degrees when we were there.
