My first post on hukd - please bear with any newbie mistakes.

Was looking for a good deal on security software when I came across this. Cheapest reputed security software I can see for 5 devices on the market.

Almost just a quid a device for the whole year!

The award-winning McAfee scores very highly on all reviews, is light on system resources and is available for Windows PCs, Macbooks, smartphones and tablets.

Limited time only on Amazon. Hopefully not Amazon user specific.

thx op, my mcafee 30 day trial is up in a few days! heat from me.
Showing slightly cheaper at £5.49 not a fan but still a great deal, have some heat.
Have a little heat from me. Usually pay between £10-15 for this.
Just bought this for £5.49, went to renew on the mcafee site and theres a problem with the site allowing people to access their account and redeem the code. Just to let you all know
Welcome to the party pal!
I used McAfee about 15+ years ago and then stopped because it became bloated and resource heavy. Finally gave it a go again 2 weeks ago and it works very well.

No noticeable difference from the other AV products I have used in the last decade and a half.

So for anyone unsure about it I would say give it a go for this price, I was not disappointed.
Anyone that says this is bloated trash has not tried it recent. It became a joke at one point but us now very good and scores will in tests.
At this price it's worth a try.
I just got off Amazon chat as this won't install on my windows 10.
I spent 2 hrs using preinstallers and four other softwares, also joined the McAfee forum and had them help me, I changed stuff in DOS prompt and system config!! Still won't install.
I paid £10.50 for 3yrs 1 device and have written off the cash and written off McAfee.

I've not written off Amazon as they can't assist software license faults.

Comparing AVG and …Comparing AVG and McAfeehttps://www.av-comparatives.org/vendors/mcafee/https://www.av-comparatives.org/vendors/avg/Show they rate as the same except for Malware removal where McAffe gets 1 star, AVG gets 2.Bear in mind AVG is free (assumption here, the free product is as secure as the paid one)In comparison Avira gets 3 stars for everything, but costs morehttps://www.av-comparatives.org/vendors/avira/

Make sure you read the test results properly and don't take it on face value. If you look at the Malware test for McAfee that is from 2011 so nearly 9 years out of date. In the latest performance, false alarm and real world tests McAfee performed better than the free products. I would guess that the Malware on the latest version of McAfee would also perform better (although I don't know for sure).

Free AntiVirus is fine for many and I used it myself but I found it a pain for my parents as it kept popping up with rubbish and getting them to upgrade for 'free' but putting a 30 day trial on. For a few pounds I can manage the licences for them and myself (and siblings) and spend much less time fixing the problems you get with the free products.

Of course what the site shows is that there are plenty of good options to chose from. Thanks for pointing it out to me as it was a good read. I could't decide between McAfee, Symantec and Kaspersky and I think for my needs I did get the best (McAfee). It actually comes 2nd best for performance which is amazing considering where it was when I stopped using it

How annoying, I did not get any problems on my Windows 10 machines but it sounds like a comparability issue. Whats the link to the forum so I can see your error messages and see if I can help.

Also you might be able to sell the licence to someone else so don't write the money off yet
Does it fund his yacht expenses or his 47 children? Where is he these days anyways on a island or on a boat still?

jking I don’t think he recites a penny of this since he sold it
I couldn't give away the copies that come with Office 365!

I didn't notice that. 3 of the 4 tests are 2019, 1 is from 2011. Odd
