Down from £2.99, really good quality too. Have used these bags for the last 2 years and as good as any bag that you pay atleast £5 for

Not a bad price for 5kg but I'd rather use the lumpwood stuff.
Tend to buy mine after the season is finished & got about 30 3kg bags of lumpwood at ASDA for 50p each in November.
" yes we have lots of barbecues & also smoke food too " yum

I find the lumpwood too hot at times and often burns the food quickly, briquettes are designed more of a slower roasting style. But each to their own preference. I agree with the end of season sales, I often stock up from Wilkos but at this time of year its hard to find a decent priced bag of charcoal for that last minute planned BBQ

Wilko's as of this weekend have 5Kg of briquettes for £1.99

Original Poster

but normal price, Aldi sell these for £2.99 anyway

Original Poster

wilkos will bump up to £4-£5 after this weekend

I have a COBB and these are brilliant in it. Low price but not low quality.

^ user ignored is a great feature.

Good price for good quality item which i use often and which i will buy due to post so many thanks op. And the relevance of the previous comment?

10p ! hot hot hot

hot, bought the big brand 'big K' 5kg for £5 and they are rubbish compared to the aldi product. ages to get going and don't stay hot for long, the aldi ones go for a good 1.5hours cooking time on my weber bbq.and light easily every time.

if this is the stuff in the red bag, it's excellent stuff. really good quality briquettes.

I had the stuff in the red bag before, not from Aldi, and it had 6inch nails attached to the briquettes and there was even a chain link in 1 of the briquettes, the black bag is the 1 for me

HOTIt was £2.99 all last year and year before. Now if only we could get Kingsford in the UK - that is some proper charcoal

bargain!

I find lumpwood charcoal much better than briquettes. B&M do some cracking lumpwood for £4 for a 5 kilo bag.
