Still time for a few more BBQs I hope. Bought these in Cheltenham Branch today. They still had a large stock of them.

I use these, normally good value at £2.99 for 5kg. Decent size briquettes too that don't burn out tooquickly. Great find if you are lucky enough to find them in stock. Cheers op.

Yep, I always thought they were good value before but this was too good to miss. I imagine it will be nationwide wherever they have stock to clear. Could be BBQ weather this weekend

are theese the easy light junk?
I ask as ive got a ceramic bbq that absorbs the flavour of the lighter fluid or easy light fuel (which I obviously dont want as it imparts that flavour on the food)
I usualy use restaurant grade lump as it burns hotter and/or longer but at this price I could pick up a few bags as a reserve considering I cook on my kamado year round

However cheap never buy briquettes, lump charcoal is so much better. Briquettes are basically dust stuck together, your barbie deserves the real thing, burns much better and much purer..

Great price, stock up for next year

Have used Aldi briquettes before and impressed- fine for cooking roasts such as whole chicken, leg of lamb, rib of beef. Went to Aldi Hamilton but told by manager they had removed all the briquettes as no one was buying them. Anyone seen them in Lanarkshire?

Nothing wrong with these and is a great price. Store near me had quite a bit on the pallet still. Was tempted to go back and stock up for the winter months. Yes, I BBQ (braai) all year round. :-P

I love a bonfire night BBQ... thanks stocked up

just this store?

Mine had em for 2.49. Waiting for local tesco to clear these out again for 50p like last year

£2.99 in Hatfield. 10 left. Thanks.

Sorry to comment on an old thread but I used them at the weekend (first time using charcoal) and I just thought I would share some thoughts:

They are not "easy light" or whatever. They have no smell.

They seemed pretty intact and uniform (in terms of size)

They made some tasty burgers and steaks.

For the Irish among us, These are reduced (€2.49) in my two local Aldis (Athlone and Balinasloe, they have loads) so it could be nationwide.
