Cheaper at Gearbest (etc..) but as this includes the PS and controller,it's not cheaper by a great deal. Given that this is fullfilled by Amazon, I can get it tomorrow (Prime) and it's almost Christmas, then it's a big fat 'Hot' from me! Ordered, cheers OP.

Can these be controlled by hue at all? Looking to install in kitchen.

Think you can get a wireless adapter for it.
The link won't work on this phone but I prefer the RGB LED 300 5050 waterproof that are usually around the same price as much brighter as double the lights and can get them in black backing too. Can't see if this one is waterproof or the normal one but definitely would go for waterproof. Not sure why links are being weird just taking me to HUKD mobile site lol.

From what I've read, you need something like this to get them to work with Hue amazon.co.uk/dp/…c=0
Bought this previously, and it's recently stopped working, no idea as to why.

Cold from me.
I have been buying them for years as always have white blinds and put them round my windows so it's like a chavvy brothel at night and Christmas all year round lol behind my tv and on the ceiling too lol

Always good deals on Amazon just high street shops come up with fancy packaging and charge £50 lol The remotes don't seem to last me long though and some of the controller boxes start emitting high pitch tones after a while so now I have them all linked together with the controller box in kitchen so don't hear it lol

Worth noting a lot of the ones that come with plugs are technically illegal as they aren't fused so I buy ones with chunky looking plugs and not the wee flat triangle ones as I read they were dangerous and don't meet regulations.
Thinking of getting these for the back of a 49” Tv. Would 5m’s be enough

thanks, they should also work with my harmony elite
if you buy more than one, you should be able to link them together so you only use the one transformer

You would likely need a higher wattage transformer.

Although that might be a good thing, as the one in the picture appears to have an illegal plug. It is quite likely that the transformer itself doesn't comply with UK electrical safety regulations either.

Yes, totally agree. That mains plug is not legal. It won’t contain a fuse. If you get a problem with the power supply, that cable could take the full current available from yours mains ie probably 32A. Total death trap/fire hazard in waiting.
That Plug doesn't look very safe!

The distance between the pins and the edge of the plug isn't sufficient either, so it is possible for fingers to touch the pins when plugging it in.

I also wouldn't be too surprised if the cable turned out to be aluminium and of insufficient gauge, the power supply pictured also looks like the cheap ones sold by cheap Chinese sites, there's a fair chance the insulation and creepage gaps will be insufficient for safe use on 240v mains, so if it doesn't catch fire first, the whole led string could go 240v.

It looks like a kettle lead, so do you think it can be swapped with a proper plug with fuse?
Have 6 sets in different rooms bought over 4 years ago from different Chinese sellers and apart the odd flicker or one colour fail have had no problems. If your house did go on fire could try suing Amazon , good luck on that.

I've got that set from Banggood, but not done anything with it yet other than power it up for a few hours to make sure it works, so I can't say much about it other than I doubt the double sided tape will last for very long, and I'll probably wire the power from the controller to both ends, since the strip gets hot towards the end plugged in to the power, due to the current (which I believe is quite normal for these things). Also I'll probably replace the IR controller with a cheap wifi one that doesn't need pointing.
