I need 60m of 5050s and 30m of waterproof 3258. Looking for something that will last rather than nessecarily the cheapest option.
What power suppler kit do you need for this, perfect for sticking under the eaves boards on my log cabin.
Please see my replies above.
First one needs wiring up. Would suit your needs

How's that for the perfect win-win!
Siiiiiiick
Yes your quite right and even if that. If you want to protect what your putting it on you will need some kind of base layer that will stick and then superglue to led strips to that layer as dependent on how much you want to use the lights the bulbs die out eventually which will then require replacement
Or 24V ones - 1/4 of the copper losses, and the constant current ones are much more efficient too.
Please forgive with my noob questions but I need some help with understanding LED Strip lights.
I have seen a few versions on the net/ebay etc - one which is powered by the the Mains AC & another which is powered by USB cable.
1) If I get a a USB Cable version, can I simply connect the USB cable to a USB Wall Plug Adapter & then just plug it into the Mains like we do with most USB Devices? Is this safe?
2) Ideally, I need one with a Dimming function & some sort of control - I just want Warm White but the single colour strips I have seen have very limited options - the multi colour RGB ones seem to have a RC with a dimming function & I have seen "Full Kits" go for about £8-£16. On these RGB Kits can one set a "Warm White" colour or is one just stuck with the set colours any kit offers? I ask as they all seem to offer just plain bright white or yellow?
3) Regardless of whether a Strip/Kit is USB or Mains Powered, - must one always use a power transformer/adapter of some kind? I do not understand what all the Volts & Wattage numbers mean tbh. I need a a strip that is about 2m, offers Warm White, is dimmable & preferably has a handheld remote at a reasonable price
- Can anyone be kind enough to help a noob out please?
Big Thanks!
