Cheers... Bought 2 for some reason. What do I do with them?

I went for the USB one as can run from the TV ports and all nice and discreet round the back of the set. I paid about 8 quid from Ebay for 5m

I'm guessing a power supply needs to be bought seperately?

My thoughts precisely - anyone know what adaptor to buy to make this work?

Yes, controller but not PSU. Can probably get one off ebay but just need to know which one:

Bought mine ages ago so links wouldn't be valid, but on eBay paid £1.95 each for 2m 5v USB 5050 strips, £2.65 for the same but waterproof, those were in August 2018. Paid £9.89 for 5m 5050 waterproof with main adapter and IR remote but that was back in September 2014.

And before the time machine comments, I am aware this was some time ago.

Cheers. Just out of interest, what did you need waterproof ones for, where did they go?

Quite a few people use them in fish tanks/ponds ...
Don't bother. Terrible quality and only last a few weeks after having had to buy a power supply. May have been a bad batch, but don't expect much.
Top quality fire starter 🔥 ideal for winter .. 🚒

The 12v ones were bought just because they were the ones on offer at the time. The 5v ones were intended to go out in a shed, hooked up to a 5v solar battery to be a shed light, just going waterproof for the little extra seemed to make sense for the outdoor humidity that could occur out there, obviously have to be careful about the battery choice as well though due to the potential for extreme temps and moisture in the air.

In my opinion the 5v ones as a shed light need a couple of strips for any reasonable size shed and work fine if all you want is something to offer a little light so that you can place and find boxes etc without tripping over anything, but if you want it lit up properly so you can search through stuff, you really want the the 12v ones.

Bought the SMD5050 5M USB one last year from gearbest for my display cabinet and it's still working, I've hooked it up with an arduno usb on/off switch and a power bank (cba connecting it to the mains) for when I want to turn it on and it works great a word of advise: the USB version is bright up to about 2/3 meters and the longer it goes the dimmer it will get.
Something like this looks ok for 1m USB with controller.

Great deal, Brought 3 of these last year around the same time. I currently have them installed with DC12v 1.5A (for 5M) or whatever spare Router plug I had lying around. works perfectly fine.
Idk I always was thinking buying these thing straight from Chinese on-line store it may me think it will set your house in fire at the first use... Especially from gearbeast, only cr@p guaranteed, trust me
Spent £40 on Amazon for 15 m, must be nuts especially now partner has got 12 weeks(garden leave?} to losing job, wish I'd known. On top of that checked individually on the three strips all OK, put above coving connected all up and find the controller is now faulty. Had to cut transformer cable to fit above ceiling so can't even return and too much hassle to take down anyway, so bought one on AliExpress. Story over.38943734-zpRdj.jpg Just used 3 m plastic coving 127 mm from B@Q and grab adhesive about 300 mm from curved ceiling .
Can these light be used in car for interior?

I will try look it up 🏾
Loads of these on Amazon as well - careful when choosing as newer versions literally have a plug/cable to connect, older versions have at least 4 separate wires with really poor quality connectors.
Used 5M to go under my kids’ bed (they love them) and a smaller 1.5m strip for my desktop PC. Very effective and cheap as chips, easy to install.
How do i fit this to mains for kitchen cabinets? Heard someone talking about drivers?
So these run on 12v DC

If only there was a common battery available at 12v or 12v battery chargers & solar panels.

Wait?!?!!
