Found 7th Dec 2010Made hot 7th Dec 2010
Called in to my local Wethers in the Heart of Sherwood Forest, Sutton in Ashfield for a spot of lunch and noticed a few Hot Deals on their menu, the afternoon special running alongside the Fish, Chips, Peas, tea or coffee is now the above mentioned available from 2pm.

I had the Ham, Egg and Chips for £1.99 with a large Lavazza coffee for 79p.

Also noticed that the breakfast bap with a coffee is now only £1.19!

This can all be washed down with a few quality christmas cask ales £2.10, so if you've not been for a while get yourself down to your local wethers and sample a few of these Hot Deals

ONLY AVAILABLE BETWEEN 2 AND 5PM ON WEEKDAYS.

Ah... so you didn't actually have the Gammon? You had the Ham.

How was that? Do you think the Gammon instead of the Ham with less coffee is a better deal?

Or will you be listing your meal as a separate deal?

Pity a majority of those meals are not Dairy/Lactose Free as well, but your deal had made me hungry!

As this is quoted as "Afternoon deal" do you have any idea when the "Evening" menu starts?

BFN,

The afternoon deals, certainly the fish, chips, peas, coffee one, usually finish at 5 pm

Thanks.

Unfortunately too early for a weekday so maybe a Saturday or Sunday lunchtime outing instead

Columbia Press in Watford have been doing British ham, free range eggs and chips for £1.99 for about six months now. If the coffee is 79p then the deal should surely be priced at £2.78?

And that's an all day deal I'm sure.

Correct my friend but the deal posted is for a 5oz gammon steak, 2 eggs, chips and a cup of tea or coffee.
Rather than list all of the deals individually I thought this was the most eye catching deal, I have also mentioned a few of the other great deals, rather than post them individually. The fish n chips deal I posted, which runs in conjunction with this got over 500 degs so I thought this would be equally as popular, but I'm sure you are well aware of what thought did.......

Not at all my friend I'd already ordered the Ham, and was perusing the menu when I noticed this deal, It was also about 12.15pm and the gammon deal starts in the afternoon at 2pm, I do hope this has cured your curiosity.

I've never had a cup of tea in a pub before....and probably won't start now

The coffees are yummy! Cheap dinner. If you can cope with all the drunken old men that prop up the bars!

Though it would be wrong of me to make fun of Weatherspoons customer base (I do occasionally frequent myself) it would prove a rather pointless exercise attempting to specify exactly when the Lunch time menu and Evening menu handover takes place. Your average Weatherspoons resident will normally have trouble re-counting what day it is, never mind what part of the day it is !
Probably easier sticking to crisps ?

cheers from sunny sutton!

Please be aware that the quoted meal is not actually gluten free oO The small print on the menu makes it clear that you need to substitute the chips for a jacket potato for the meal to be considered GF. The chips are cooked alongside gluten containing foods (e.g. onion rings) hence the small print. To be honest, I find the staff at the Beefeater to be better at identifying which dishes can be made GF. The deal does seem good for those without coeliac disease though.

They also have a decent christmas meal, you could try posting that OP

So have you always got to have a drink or can you just have ham, egg and chips for £1.99

Thanks for this but it's an AFTERNOON deal not one available from 2pm. It should only be available between 2 and 5pm. Just thought I'd mention this to avoid any wasted journeys.

Except these 'afternoon deals' like the Fish and Chips etc aren't available at this price on the weekend sadly.

Depending on the ingredients; those made with potatoes & sunflower oil in preference to flavourings & wheat-based products.

Make fun of those of us with specialised dietary requirements, if you wish.

Thanks; I would have substituted the chips for a potato anyway (as you can never be sure what kind of oil the chips have been cooked in).

Sorry mate but you're still failing to mention this deal is only available between 2 and 5pm on weekdays so his criticism is valid.
