Oh dear....looks like Ebay have finished their 10p listings across the board and are now picking out small individual categories which dont cost much to list in anyway!!...tut tut.

How random!!

Oh No! I wanted to list some this weekend. :x

Every time ebay do this there's less chance you won't sell your discs because an offer like this generates so many listings. Great if you're a buying, Bad if you're selling unless you have something rare that's wanted.

Thanks for the OP. By bringing this to my attention I shall postpone my listings for CDs and stand a much better chance of selling them when this offer is out of the way.

even logged into ebay at the time and it didnt show then, must have changed while i was logged in.

Thanks for the tip Muhammad

Nice Ebay Tip

If you have more than 1 pic of your item, dont pay Ebay to put the other pics on, host them for free at www.imageshack.us - then use the html section in the main description to link to them.

Free pics in your listing

Thanks, I just recently decided to cash in most of my DVD collection investment so this might save me a good few quid. Except...

Really? Got any numbers from experience? I'd always thought there must be some art for when to list items to get the most money but most power sellers just seem to list at any time. Is there normally a best time of day, day of week etc. for listings DVDs and CDs?

I was planning to list quite a few, so that the insertion/gallery fee savings would add up to quite a few quid, but if I'd probably make quite a few quid more listing at another time maybe I can change my plans!

What if I did them as 3 day listings instead of 7? Nobody bids much until the last day/minute anyway, I'd save on the listings fees and there wouldn't be quite so many finishing at the same time.

Yes indeed, for me (as a very experienced ebay seller with 99% listings sold) there normally is a best time of day, day of week etc. for listings DVDs and CDs.

1) Always list on an evening preferably between 7-11pm approx. as your listing will end the same hour at the end of the auction. This is because most buyers will be home from work and have eaten by then.

2) Always go for a 10 day listing as this is obviously gives the maximum exposure and costs no more than a shorter listing.

3) Try to have templates ready in advance so you can list as many as possible on one particular day. Buyers feel more confident when a seller has a large inventory.

4) The best days to list are Thursday & Friday (evenings, remember) as this will take a 10 day listing over 2 weekends. Most buyers have weekends free from work and have more time to browse.

Other Ebay Selling Tips you may find useful

5) Avoid 'But it now' if you can, otherwise you are limiting any chances of a bidding war occurring There are some circumstances where 'But it now' can be beneficial but generally speaking I think you are better off without it.

6) Always include a picture. buyers like to see what they are getting.

7) Try to avoid adding a reserve price. So many buyers just hate auctions with a reserve. They assume the reserve is to high and it usually is. Alternatively, you can always have a minimum starting price.

I could give you more tips but I've already taken too much space. I hope this helps.

Edit: Correct spelling, as that's important too!

yeah ty muhammad for this, as i dont log into ebay so often, i allways do 1 day auctions as i have no patience! Hot and have some rep!
