5p Listing Day on eBay; Thursday 13th July 2006

Ebay are having one of their 5p listing days this Thursday, 13th July 2006 from 00:00:01 BST until 23:59:59 BST.

Terms and conditions are on their site but apart from a few exceptions (Vehicles/Property etc) anything can be listed in Auction, Auction with Buy it Now or Buy it Now only (fixed price) categories. Ideal opportunity for getting rid of those Crazy Frog CD's or England Flags.

Thats probably becuase traffic to eBay UK is way down at the moment. They are getting some bad feedback from customers on the site being filled with far east sellers ripping people off. Have you tried searching for something lately. If its electronic you will find 10 far east listings for every UK one. If you look at the eBay Community forum business sellers are moaning consistently about eBay doing nothing to stop the flood of dodgy far east sellers many of whom are pretending to have UK bases but ship from China and charge 1p for an item and £49.99 to post.

eBay's response is that they are aware of it but have not got the staff to deal with all the dodgy listings at present and may have later in the year! Result is that customers are becoming wary about buying. Traffic is down so revenue is down..hence these cheap listing days every couple of weeks.

I agree, it's not half as good as it used to be.
