Or go to Aldi, get same £40 worth of shopping for £30 then get your petrol effectively for free
Am I the only one that doesn't get it? Spend £40 to then save 60 liters of fuel x £0.05 = £3.00?
Cold from me. Just shop at Aldi anyway where your food shop is about 1/3 cheaper than Tesco/Asda/Morrisons

Yes, this is what I'm saying: cheap Rubbish.

So by the same argument all of tesco/morrisons/sainsbury own brand is rubbish also ,because they use the same producers for a big percentage of "own brand" items.

Double that in Tesco! Not sure what the spend is though.
Sadly my local Morrisons' petrol is 7p a litre dearer than the nearby Sainsburys!
How much do they charge for a litre of electric?

Can the £40 include buying gift cards or Morrisons vouchers?

I've currently got 10% off there with Amex card. I buy Morrisons vouchers to use in the petrol station (since they're not included in the 10%) so wondering if that'd also get me the petrol discount?

Can't copy and paste but full T&Cs say they're excluded.

The fuel vouchers last until 1st September though.
If you top up with 12 gallons it will reduce the cost by around £2.72 Consider how much your tank holds and how much you have already and decide if it is worth the effort.

Why does everyone think Aldi is the same. That’s your opinion not one shared by everyone. If it is really £10 cheaper there do you really think you’re getting the same quality. Even if you are then guess what no home delivery, very little staff numbers big queues. I really don’t get what the big thing about Aldi or Lidl is. It’s all mostly non branded items.
It’s no surprise all these money off petrol offers are appearing, they are ripping us off on fuel prices. Oil price down 15% yet no reduction. Summer holidays pricing
Tesco’s still have the buy 6 get 25% off on wine as well if anyone wanted to have a good stock up and then get 10p of a litre of fuel

I fully understand what you are saying. Some of their own branded items are OK and items like advacados or often better than the big names. I could not do all my shopping there but if I am passing a nice store I pop in. Aldi chocolate is nice @ £1.39. Some stores are far better than others, some are awful and I don't go in.

My local was 1.30 the other day for unleaded rip-off.

Yes, you are alright, still, there's you choose a brand product (many of them sucks, it's true), while with Aldi, just can't.
Petrol must be overpriced if they are all doing this type of offer

Some kind of price control going on I expect

It's currently 1.27 in Kings Lynn for Unleaded.
And it adds insult to injury when you consider how much oil we pump out of the North Sea!!

The amex 10% off works on gift vouchers and gift cards despite saying it doesn't in their t&cs. I've used it several times in the last few months. I think others have said that amex don't know what you've bought, only the shop and amount spent so have no way of knowing. Hoping they don't close that loophole any time soon!

Yes they accept them in my local (Blaydon). That's how I get 10% off on fuel, buy them know store first to get 10% off via amex.

Mine too. Tesco have 10p off when you spend £60. So with the 10p off plus 7p cheaper than Morrison's already it's a much better deal.

128.9 at Morrisons Fort William a couple of days ago compared to 135.9 at 2 other nearby stations.

Ah yes, that's what I thought you meant, it's because you said not included that confused me. I've never had the Morrisons deal yet, but had from other stores and I always buy a small random extra item, so it's not a round total, in the hope that they will be less suspicious!
But I wonder if it's legal for credit card companies to know what you buy in a supermarket?

Hmm i went to Aldi on Sunday for the first time in years and it was pretty busy but guess what the queue was quick due to the friendly and efficient staff, the food i bought was just as good as the M&S and posh Waitrose stuff the girlfriend buys and yip they apparently have home delivery free for orders over £20 so i can only assume you were "assuming" too and have never actually dared to darken their doors but you know what "ass"uming makes dont you!

Wow you English pay a lot for petrol all the stations near me are around £1.207!
I don't find aldi cheaper on like for like products. Not similar products that you say are waitrose quality, the same products. I shop at aldi /lidl/Tesco/Asda/Morrisons and Sainsbury's. No one shop is cheaper and better quality on everything, sorry to disappoint

Aldi has been around for many years... used them in Germany in the 1980’s. They’ve improved on their non branded quality since they arrived in the UK in the 1990’s, but it took the recession to get people to realise that the big supermarkets have been ripping off their customers; hence Aldi and Lidl’s popularity in recent years, and is now hurting the old hands big time. Freedom of choice is available to all, so shop where you want.

Oh and if you can point me to where I order and buy my food for home delivery online without having to go to the store that would be fantastic. That’s right you can’t. So it’s hardly home delivery when you have to still go do the shopping.
Aldi is cheaper, but their fruit and veg is generally minging. Luckily it's next door to Morrisons so I can pop there for veg. Morrisons gluten free selection is much better than Aldi too, ie it has one.
