No no no Tesco - why would you do 5p when the 10p off was working so nicely before Christmas !
As they are currently more expensive by over 5p than some "brand" petrol stations where I live I don't see this as a deal so won't vote either way as this may be a good deal in some places - Since December 2019, they have put their prices up 12p a litre, usually a penny a time and sometimes increasing it twice in the same week....I like their style, offer money off petrol but increase the prices before hand...bit like ebay sellers and discount codes :P

Handy seeing as a few pence per litre seems to have been put on the price since Xmas

Just to confirm that I have seen evidence of this. Thanks @LG-
Still the cheapest way of getting 99 fuel for most of us. I'll go out of my way to fill up with momentum.
Another supermarket fuel promotion, another day goes by where they promote the pollution of our towns and cities. Ugh.
Is that Tesco Petrol Station pictured the one in Honiton? Looks extremely familiar
5p

not a chance
All well and good but Tesco will increase the price before this offer started and you will be lucky to save 2 or 3p a litre!
After 5p off, it's still 7p higher than Asda. No, thanks
that's a huge £1.50 off. if i fiue up when my tank is near empty on my small car...

Not where I live they’re both 122 per litre so you’re saving 5p, only Costco is cheaper at 121 per litre

Sure it is, but that doesn't really serve as a counter point to what I said. I cycle to the supermarket, many walk or get the bus. Where's their reward for being customers? There isn't one, only people who drive in get that. Promoting a mode of transport that increases risk of dementia, causes asthma in children, and accelerates climate change. Thanks Tesco.

I suppose you're a member of extinction rebellion too,if you cycle to the supermarket you can't be buying much & buses are greater pollutants than cars, many being 20yrs old with less efficient more polluting engines

I'm not actually. I cycle everywhere if I'm not using the train for long distances. Please tell me how I'm not buying much if I'm burning more calories than someone who drives everywhere, I'm looking forward to the logic in that one. Perhaps I've broken a law of thermodynamics and have discovered free energy.

Yes you're right, old buses are terrible, let's keep buying SUVs instead

For the record, this is what I get my groceries with, but you're probably right, I surely don't eat as much food as a driver!

I do try but it would easier if you man up. Well done for cycling everywhere but don’t ram it down everyone’s else’s throat on here.

Man up, rolling out all the clichés. If you call leaving a few comments ramming something down a throat perhaps you're the one that needs some thicker skin.

Better stop now all that electric your wasting.
So much for top secret 🤐
Do yourself a favour and buy this £50 worth of stuff from Aldi for under £40 instead and stop chasing this false economy by big super markets.

Aldi don't sell the same products £10 cheaper. You are just justifying going to aldi.

These petrol offers are getting worse, used to be 10p off, Morrison's recentlty were 5p off with a £40 spend and now this 5p off but £50 spend

Tesco run a business mate. They're in the game of making money. This is how it works. Some things are genuine deals, some things are smart marketing moves to make money. This is clearly one of them. Since you clocked it for what it is, then don't go for it.
My car misbehaves on Tesco fuel. "Fuel trim too lean". Doesn't mind ASDA though

This just means they'll burn through it all quicker and doom humanity even sooner than expected, which might result in less hot deals on petrol, eventually

Ok so we'll all be dead and the world will be a Mad Max style toxic deadzone, but the look on their faces when prices are through the roof will be totally worth it

I imagine all the motorists slowing down to try and over take you, what a waste of fuel...

Absolutely true. Morrissons is the nearest supermarket to me and they have put up their prices by about 10p since New Year, the Esso garage round the corner normally price match them, but strangely they are about 6p a litre cheaper at the moment.... Oh wait, Morrissons are doing 5p off a litre when you spend £40 aren't they? Coincidence?

Tesco down the road are nearly always 2p a litre more than both of them as they are next to a motorway and I guess get more passing trade, but their prices have gone up a similar amount too and, wait for it, they're now doing a similar discount.

Fake sale. Just like eBay. Just like DFS. Freezing cold.

Not really, I use petrolprices.com to find the cheapest local tescos... Looking forward to combining this with the cleaning products deal:

I assume this is on Momentum too?
confusing - so, do you need to first spend something in tesco to get the voucher and then you can buy something for 50 quid or do you simply go online / instore and spend 50 and will be given the petrol voucher!?

If you go in-store you get a printed voucher with your receipt if you spend £50. (Doesn't include baby milk and some other stuff)

You you order online and have it delivered you get a voucher stapled to your invoice.
