Found 30th May 2011
Guarana Antartica is the second most popular soft drink in Brazil and is beginning to make inroads in the UK.

Appears to only be on sale in most Waitrose stores at the moment. (see here for where: http://goo.gl/TynXk)

Individually retails for 87p, but it's now available in packs of six for £2.24 - about 37p each.

Offer appears to be valid until 21/06/2011 when the price will be bumped up to £4.49

Nor had I until the other week.

They sponsor Felipe Massa (Ferrari F1 driver) and I'm a marketing man's wet dream. So tracked it down.

Must admit that it's actually quite nice. Was expecting it to taste like muddy water or something.
Never tried it, what does it taste like?
Never seen it might try a can if they do sugar free, though hope it tastes better than the winter melon drink I tried the other day, that was do bad I nearly lost my lunch.

Don't think there is a sugar free version.

Hard to describe the taste really. It's quite indistinct. Not bitter, quite lemonade-y in taste I guess.

Might want to try an individual can before going for a six pack!
Had this a while back from Waitrose, nice and refreshing.

There is a sugar free version. Not sure if they are selling it yet.

I'm brazilian and Guarana Antarctica is great, I can't relate this to anything we have here, I can't recommend this enough, since this price is cheaper than you can buy it in Brazil
I've had some, but expensive, paid £1 in markets per can. I've had better drinks, but it is refreshing. Some exotic Tamarind or even a good import of Mountain Dew tastes better or about the same.
I love Guarana!!!! I drank it like it was going out of fashion when I was in Portugal!
Love this stuff!
First tried it in Brazil and you can see why it is more popular than Coca-Cola over there. Usually over a £1 a can when you can find it over here so will be driving to Waitrose tomorrow to stock up.

A mug buy - there's plenty of UK Supermarket own brand soft drinks about for approx £1.20 for 6
you guys need to travel more, this drink taste great imo, and as stated above tastes like nothing you can explain but go in the direction of white wine gums,
It tastes great ice cold
And I am not from Brazil
Just what everyone needs, ANOTHER caffeine & sugar-filled drink :-(
sounds tasty to me ive been drinking the black grape pop from tescos for a while
so this could be my new dirty habit
There's no caffeine in it...
I tried this when I was in Brazil and it's amazing! Was totally hooked on it out there.

It may not taste great when you initially try it, as it's not as sweet as most soft drinks, but you'll definitely grow to enjoy it. Very refreshing.

Okay Professor, you learn something new everyday.

Seems like it has the equivalent 'caffeine' content as a can of Coca-Cola though.
