Just as things are warming up in the UK, I thought I would get a few fans for the bedrooms (knowing the prices will soon bump up as more get the same idea) however, space is sometimes at a premium with dressing tables being used for other things etc, etc.
The clip on fans allow a little more flexibility in terms of where they go - can be clipped to the end of the bed for instance.
Great size for bedrooms and not too noisy unlike the larger ones with big stands.
I think/hope i have found these at the cheapest around.

Details from the site:
6" clip on fan 6 Clip-On Personal Fan mounts wherever needed.
Strong, easy-to-open clamp with rubber grips holds tight while preventing scratches.
Its quiet operation will not disturb anyone and has vertical tilt for ease of use and giving excellent versatility.
With 2 speed settings, you can have greater flexibility over the cooling speed.

Shame they can't delivery to my work place today.
A cooling fan that adds about 17 Watts of heat. Brilliant.

A response that is backed up with actual facts and figures to prove it. Marvelous.

I actually did think of them too - Oh well.
You can but try - Don't think I'll bother returning for the sake of 65p though. Thanks.

And you reckon they actually push that wattage out as heat?
Would that result in warm air or cool air being blown by the fan?

This forum is historically not the ideal place to debate physics, other than to state the obvious that a device that moves air does not cool it but may provide a beneficial cooling effect when combined with evaporation / humidity principles, and all power consumption terminates as heat.

I quite agree.
Just as this forum is historically shown to attract an element only too happy to display their academic and intellectual prowess; all too often in a bid to get a mild improvement on their perceived personal self esteem. Whilst I'm not suggesting that's axiomatic in this instance it does become somewhat blooming boring!
I'm looking for a similar but smaller, battery operated fan that can be used in the garden - ideally something on a long neck that can be clamped to a bench seat or hammock. Has anyone seen anything like this?
