Ok for a middle of summer trip, for that price its not gonna be very waterproof or durable

You get what you pay for

Great for festivals though! If you split the cost between 6 people then its a bargain. Just apply some extra waterproof coating to it before using it!

Got to agree with that mooseepoo.
Anyway I would have thought that almost all tenets now will be able to withstand some rain as in this country it would be pointless without!
Heat added

It looks okay but i think it will be the cheapest material ever, orless you want to have a sweat shower when ur asleep i would avoid it

Cheap tents like this are awful and a complete waste of money. You are guaranteed to get soaked, either by the rain or by the condensation when you wake up in the morning. Add to that that the chances of it staying erect in winds are extremely slim and as a previous poster said - you get what you pay for!

Spend the extra cash and get a Vango or Kyham, a cheap tent like that is enough to put people of camping for life! ;-)

This is not a good deal..

Argos have the same thing for £54.99

I knew there were other reasons too, not to buy a cheap tent

I think too, often the attention to detail isn't there, and so the material doesn't meet the ground properly or zip close properly - we've had this in the past with a cheap tent we had - was very annying

We have an 8 man Vango - cost around £200 and will last us for years I'm sure

british summer weather is enough to put anyone off camping for life... too cold in the nights and likely to rain and have the field turn into a mudbath

30+ years ago camping used to be the cheap way to have a holiday
now you can probably get alast minute deal abroad for not a great deal more
especially if you take into account all the stuff you need to buy to go camping

in a warmer country which doesnt have too many animals/snakes/spiders thatll sneak up on you and kill you while you sleep such as maybe south of france then camping would be ok but il never go again in britain

last time was miserable when the rain came and even if you blow up an airbed so as that your not sleeping on the floor it is still far from an enjoyable experience

if you truly are like bear gryllis, then the tent wont matter too much... for the rest of society there is no way to make a camping trip feel like something else namely a house

Difficult to tell if it is the same. Pro-Action tends to be an Argos exclusive brand.

The problem with the Woolies tent is there is insufficient info to make an informed decision e.g. no indication of the Hydrostatic Head (the measure of a tent's waterproofing), nor if it has a Sewn in Ground sheet (SIG).

The argos tent has a HH of only 1200mm which makes it a real fairweather tent. An absolute minimum should be 1500mm but preferable would be 2000mm or above.

I am a regular camper (out main tent is a canvas frame tent which are far more comfortable) and use ukcampsite.co.uk/ on a regular basis.

Register and make use of the message boards, especially the equipment one, and see if anyone knows any more about the Woolies deal. Failing that ask for help choosing a suitable tent giving details such as budget, how many berths etc.

YEAH BUT...

The kids love it !!!

My boys certainly do anyway
Yes they love hotels and chalets too, BUT they still wouldn't say no to a camping trip
Yes, it is nothing like a house, and I think that's what makes the appeal - its so different - such an adventure
Personally, I love it too!
