I saw very nice oak veneered doors in MK B&Q over weekend, only 24.99£, they were very nice, would reccomend without hesitation...

thanks for posting this. i'll be down there tonight.

Good price if you want them for spruce up job on a property you are selling. If youre intending to stay at a property I would buy something a bit better. I bought 9 of these last year for my house and paid £240 to have them fitted. I wish now that I'd spent an extra £10 to £15 on each door as these are lightweight and flimsy. The door handles are coming off already as they are screwed in to basically cardboard.

Doors like these can't offer much fire or noise resistance. Solid are much better if you can afford them.

Just love HUKD. Where elsse can you upgrade to Windows 7 and downgrade to Wickes doors??

Must agree with the previous posts on quality and weight. Best to choose a heavier door, one worth fitting.

Bargain for a door..

damn, I'm buying a house at the mo and have these doors on the shopping list. Problem is I've no where to store them and what happens if the house purchase falls through. Decisions decisions....

1. Find your old receipt and take it to the store.
2. Purchase the same quantity you bought last time paying full price.
3. Then go to the customer service desk with the NEW doors you just bought and ask for a full refund using the OLD receipt.

Effectively you are returning like with like. I did this once at PC World when a laptop case was full price one week and massively reduce the following week. The shops do not actively promote this for obvious reasons BUT this is completely legit.

I need to replace all the internal doors in my house as the previous owners didnt treat them very well plus they are dark brown so would prefer white. Any idea how much you would expect to pay someone to fit each one? I've been quoted £25-£30 per door does that sound reasonable?
I've got 13 to replace so need a deal!

£25 - £30 is probably pretty good. Can't remember what the "Book Time" is for fitting a door, somewhere around one hour I think. Don't forget the hardware can add up too.

There is one small problem with “book times” – they’re nonsense. If you only spend one hour trimming, hanging, planning and fitting out a door, it will be very badly done.

The question was, is £25 - £30 a good deal, and I thought it was.
I can't remember exactly what the "book time" is 'cos I lent my book to someone about 15 years ago and never had it returned.
Fitting a new internal door in a new house doesn't take long with todays kit, routers and jigs, electric planers. Whether it was done well or badly would depend on the craftsman.

Before I looked into it I didn't realise fitting doors was such a skill but I guess if you want the job done well the got to get the pro's in.
