Excellent reminder to people. I did almost exactly that - ie that site & Boots printing a few years back but got it even cheaper by coming back the next day to collect the single print sheet as I was walking past that Boots all week ie just 15 or 20p from memory and paid in Boots Advantage points too if I remember rightly - doubt if they are doing it that cheaply any more tho!.

Here's a previous HUKD deal by PrettyFlyForaBrownGuy from last year with some extra ideas too...

£4.99 at the web site epassportphoto.com. how to do it free

I second those questions.

yes done that , you take picture on your phone, upload to that website, it will crop it to uk or country of choice approved pics.....you then download the photo as a 6x4 sheet...in jpeg format onto a usb drive....goto boots and use the machine to get your 6x4 phot printed....easy...just hope the passport office approve the photos...

You just take a photo against the required background. Upload it to the website and create a 6x4 snap page. go to Boots or any other store that has printing facilities. Select 6x4, you will get 6 passport size photos.

No point if camera is crap
I did this and it's just time wasting.
I didn't have white background so I used white bed sheet lol but still the camera needs to be really good altho mine is new too.

Not so long ago, i spent £8 for 8 of these, so for less than 50p here, a very very HOT deal from me
Edited by: "abhijitdash123" 31st Jan 2015

ok at this price if the photos don't get refused, BE aware the are very very strict with passport photos! and could end up costing a lot more if you don't get them through the checks.

Did this and paid 30p for 10 photos on a 7x5 sized photo.

Forgot to say if Tesco is nearer and you order 7 days in advance its just 15p for a 6x4.

This is a hot deal. Have some heat for your effort Mucker

as someone that takes a lot of these pics for people, most home done 1's will fail. This is due to poor lighting, angle and general specs. my advice is just pay a little more and get it done properly. will save money and time as they won't get sent back

Once doing it on the site, how do I save my image and print it thou?

Why would they be refused?

but the requirements are strict, if the image is slightly out of focus, not directly head on, slightly too dark etc they will be failed

Don't use Tesco, the print quality is very bad (Stevenage Extra branch) . I assume they use a very low resolution setting to print their pics.

Printed same passport pics at Boots kiosk for 39p and pics were 100% better.

Don't forget to remove your spectacles too.

Can we edit our photoes? For example make them lighter or crop them

You can do them lighter or darker and crop(select your photo area) at this website

idphoto4you.com

What's the chances, just paid £19 for my 3 kids ones today!!!!!!

Thank you adeel26 I will do it now.

Bargain. Heat!

Did this when I needed a driver's license photo. Worked well, but quite a hastle... getting proper lighting, background, converting images and trimming them correctly.

lighting has to be correct, as does measurements such as chin to crown. you would be suprised at some of the requirements

Good deal, *but* in all honesty, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle. Passports cost £72.50 these days, and TBH, spending a fiver to get photos you /know/ will work in < 5 mins seems like the proverbial drop in the ocean to me. The passport office are notoriously fickle about photos (application forms include 2x A4 sheets of instructions just for the photos these days) and it's a real pain (and can mean serious delays too) if they do reject your application.

Yes, I *know* those machines are a ripoff, but I've never been able to get a really good passport-standard photo at home

Sorry, technically hot, but I put a fiver in the machine today and don't feel too bad about it

Fantastic price. Heat added

When I got my passport forms, the woman behind the counter said that be careful with the photos, even the machine they had in the post office could get rejected. So I paid £8 at a local studio and chose the best photo from many. I wouldn't risk an application getting rejected because I tried to save a few pennies, plus the women in the family were happy with a studio shot they could choose
