Manchester

I will never stop in a Travelodge again after finding a hair on the window ledge in their Merthyr Tydfil one that clearly belonged to a previous occupant. It took me all night to find it but nonetheless I shudder at just how unhygienic this was.

Same thing happened to me when i found a small pube on the toilet brush, what made it worse was it was Ginger, i still shudder to this day, thinking of maybe putting a claim through the small claims court for the trauma

You being serious? Finding a hair isn't ideal, but it wouldn't put me off staying at their hotels, these things happen...

I found exposed copper wire sticking out of a mains socket in our room when we stayed in one so beat that. Have pictures to back it up too.

For an extra £10 you can stay at a Premier Inn. Won't be making the Travelodge mistake again. Although they did give us a full refund (eventually).

If you really do have to stay in one the Ilford Travelodge is 15 to 20 mins on the train into Central London. You'll probably get the £19 per night deal there because it's a dump.

You found a hair. Wow. Well done. How did you know it was the previous occupants? Dud you dba the cleaning staff?

Taksim_Red - exposed copper wire? I vet someone has stripped it and weighed it in by now...

I would say Southampton because its close, but theres nothing down here so don't bother lol

I regularly use travelodge for over night stays last year I went 4 times with family and friends at £19 for two which is a bargain.

I'm also looking for an over night stay near this time near Euston London around March 18 and they are coming up about £60 for the one night at the moment , however I checked the site on the 3rd January when Travelodge sent out an email again for discounted rooms ( this was before I had confirmation with time off from work) and the 18th was marked up for £19.50

All I can recomend is wait as Travelodge constantly have offers and rooms change prices every few days

Just to make it absolutely, abundantly clear to those without the gift of basic common sense - nobody spent any time looking at toilet brushes, or stayed up all night checking for hair.

Sleep well.

None in NI again, as per usual.

Thanks Freespirit - will keep checking prices daily. I'm kicking myself as when I checked on New Year's Eve, the price for the Euston Travelodge for 6th April was £25 but didn't book that night as had to consult friends and also needed to wait to see how much train tickets were going to be as prices are only released 12 weeks before departure. Checked on Travelodge website on New Years' Day evening and it had gone up to £75! Gutted!! Not sure if it'll go down much in price now as that weekend is Easter Bank hol weekend so it'll prob be heaving

i stayed in a travelodge with my wife last year and while trying to "get some action" with her, i found a used tampon inside her. Couldn't believe it. Filthy. Will never stay at travelodge again!

Thanks for explaining my post to all those who suffer from a sarcasm deficiency. I was simply parrodying the fact that every time someone posts a Travelodge deal on here, there's always one or two people who come on the thread to complain about some utterly trivial fault which left them so disgusted they will never stay at a Travelodge again!

Clearly I'm far too dry for my own good. I only left that comment to make YOU laugh

Check expedia/ebookers before you book, especially if paying £29 upwards - often better hotels locally with breakfast, that work out cheaper
