leaving it as national because it's in a sale so would think it would be the whole of the UK Asdas £130 off and not bad for 60inch TV 1080p and 3 HDMI.

just incase you were wondering there was five in the metrocentre Asda gateshead where the photo was taken.

Good price for a tv that size but Polaroid televisions are not very good or reliable from my experience.

they had these in gateshead asda earlier

Wish I had the money, im sick of having to sit close to my 22 inch 1080P LG that ive had for 4 years or so (£180 from richer sounds back then, cheapest way to get 1080P at the time).

They probably plan to use it as a dining table when its not switched on.

It's no doubt another Vestel clone along with Logik, Hitachi and some Toshiba. Yes some Toshibas are not Toshiba. Check the remote controls of the Logik and small Toshibas in Currys......hmmm, they are identical.

Big TV, stick to a big name.

Just a note of caution; you may well be right because there are only a handful of TV manufacturers who just badge for each client but just because the remotes are the same doesn't mean the TV's are from the same stable. Many remotes are interchangeable because they all use standard signals for many of their functions.

I sourced some info a few years ago when I was looking for a new tv for the caravan with dvd player. The Logik (I bought) and the Toshiba remotes where identical and worked the other's television. I looked into this further and found that all Toshiba TV's under 32" were in fact made by Vestel and branded Toshiba. Not that it makes much difference providing the tv's are manufactured to Toshiba standards and quality control. I suppose it is not cost effective for some companies to manufacture sets for all sizes. Was it not LG who developed the flat screen first producing panels for other companies. Also didn't LG/Samsung make panels at one time for Sony. I know that a Pentus TV I bought from Currys had a Samsung panel. It only lasted 2 years and it was my first flat screen tv. £450 for a 32". How times have changed but one reason why I am against buying tv's not made by the top manufacturers. Incidentally I took the Logik back because it had a stupid micro scart socket and one of the sockets on the back of the tv was loose and crackled. Shame really because the quality of the screen was very good but the sound was awful.

Had LG and Samsung since with no probs.

I would consider buying an unbranded tv for the kitchen or bedroom but think this might be a bit on the big side lol. My daughter bought a cheap tv from asda for her kitchen and it's been a great tv. Excellent picture. Sound a bit tinny but it was only about £60/£70. Saying that though at Asda you can get an LG 21.5" for £99.00

Has anyone got any info on this set? Anyone bought one?. I know someone that got the 39 inch Polaroid 1080p LED set and I am quite impressed with its looks and the image quality, sound is abit poor. I would imagine a 60 inch panel, being a relatively rare size, will undoubtedly be shared with a big brand. I wouldnt expect the same quality as a big brand, but surely it would be more than adequate for playing games and watching movies and tv.

I think its likely to have similar/same screen and performance as this "vizio" branded tv that are the cheap choice in the USA youtube.com/wat…yns and it got a good review from CNET. This deal should be allot hotter!

seen in Metrocenter Asda in the north

May as well wait until they do the 4k version later this year. rrp £699 which sounds sweet to me

They announced at CES. There were some others like Kogan here trustedreviews.com/new…-uk which will really help prices come down.

Edit the Polaroid was 50" - not sure of expected pricing for 60" but it can only be good news for the price of 4k.

Was really tempted by the samsung set after seeing it in JL. The picture on this and the Sony were mind blowing and a huge difference between these and current HD. If these were around £2k I would bite but hanging on until the new wave of budget sets appear.

Anyone know if there are any in the Liverpool / Southport area please?
