(Retail refurb - a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to buying brand new
We are often asked where our products comes from and how we can sell at our prices; whilst we do sell new products we also sell "graded products". These products are not brand new but in our first band of grading, our "Grade 2/Good As New" products arrive with us when a customer has made a purchase and decided to return it within a no-quibble return period. Often these products will have been powered once or twice; and in some cases not at all! We check them, clean them and then re-box them.

Nearly all products are fully retail boxed and come with all accessories and manuals - you may only be able to tell they aren't new by the broken manufacturer's seal

So if you are looking for a new(ish) machine at a fraction of the price then grade two is for you.

Due to the small period of time that the products have been in use there is normally a large amount of the manufacturer's warranty remaining.)

Do not buy from this company they will not even give you proper stock details and will swallow your money and sell to others if they are their friends.

if they see that customer is shock ed at price they will remove the product from website and put at higher price.

they will cut off calls if they have refunded without customers approval.

1 in stock and no mention of warranty or graphics card which is a big part of the spec on these.

These are old I'm about to upgrade to an i7 from a Q6600 and they where a wicked CPU and still are, they are the overclockers favorite and are massively overclockable but this is a Dell so locked bios its well over priced for a refurb you could build a decent i5 setup for less money so this is cold and Dell sell an i7 for around £650brand new so to buy old second hand stuff at that price you would need to be mad.

"These are selling for £700+ on Ebay"
wouldnt touch dell stuff with a bargepole

To mugs...this pc isnt that powerful - as for £700+ on ebay...lol, maybe to mugs.......i bought a ex-demo novatech built entity model for £600 which an antec 900-2 case, retail windows 7 was extra at £82 but it came with a wless mouse/keyboard
gtx260 graphics
asus pro5q mboard
4gb ddr2-1066 memory
9550 cpu
500gb drive and 1.5tb drive - paid £32 extra for the extra 1tb over standard 1tb
almost runs crysis on full
2 year warranty (extra year free)
4gb usb stick free
bargain, prob as cheap s building yourself
didnt bother with the i5 or i7 chips as quite expensive at the mo and i dont primarily use my pc for playing games so couldnt justify an extra 500-900 (self build approx £800 i guess for a goodish spec i7, ready built i guess £1000-1500 for a goodish spec)

as for the alienware or the hideous acer alienjoke - WAY overpriced!! - £600-700 for a fancy case - no thanks!!

hadnt built a pc for some time but still surprised how little they havent advanced in some areas

Cold. It doesn't mention the graphics, it's only Vista Home Premium for the OS, overpriced for what it is (refurb). I wouldn't expect to get this much for my home main machine that I built to similar spec more than 2 years ago (but using XP Pro, and keeping to 3GB memory but with an 8800GT).

I do agree, this is expensive for a refurd, unless they thro in a 22" Dell monitor, keyborad and Operation system, free applications etc..... I alway buy my Dell reforbs from www.mcscom.co.uk They allway provide great prices, new and used Dells and so far the service for me and other who have ordered has been excellent.
FROM MCS....A similair Dell Unit....
Dimension XPS 420 TOWER
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz
RAM-4096MB HDD500GB BLU-RAY Rom
512mb Radeon HD 4850
£448.00 + vat

Not that bad a deal as it is the higher model than the 420 and includes VAT
They actually have 4 or 5 in stock but listed as only one .

I need a meaty machine to develop on and edit video, no gaming so the graphics card doesn't have to be that high spec, and no OS required as I have Windows 7 Ultimate waiting for a home... is this really that bad a deal under these circumstances?
